The animation director and everything was changed, and that's also why its different and that Oda wanted the best art style for this arc he's been wanting to tell about for years😁.

Yep Toei really has been putting the fanservice in for Zoro in this arc. As a big Zoro fangirl that seppuku scene almost killed me, I mean I already read it in the manga but all the detail they put into the animation and the unnecessary ab close ups was so great haha. And yes the animation is so beautiful every episode has been a visual treat this arc, not only that but the soundtrack is so beautiful too. I feel like they'll only keep this up for this arc and maybe change the style again after, sadly. But we'll see! Looking forward to more :)

Sometime in the past, Little Oars Jr. and Ace became friends. Just a little info SMF. This arc has been a long time coming and its truly a labor of love between the studio and the author of one piece. Noticeably the massive difference in animation and style, even the techniques have more flair to them then ever before. ODA wanted wano to be a special arc in the anime because its a very important mile stone in the story of one piece. He has mentioned that wano will be very important for the plot of OP entering the core of the narrative. In fact so much so that oda has kept anything that happens afer the wano arc a closely guarded secret. It is after all where the manga will finally reach 1000 chapters.

My four thoughts during your reaction. 1) What I loved most about the new animation style is the background. They look more like paintings as to drawings. Love it. 2) Oda made Wano as a 5 act play, and the woman playing the instrument is like the person introduction or ending each act. 3) 33:07 SMF: "That's so sad." The style of this arc is done as a Kabuki play. The lady that they cut to playing the music, the different "acts" you'll see as the curtain gets pulled back, etc, are all in the style of the traditional Japanese Kabuki structure. There will be drama tragedy, and events speeding up. As this happens, the music will change and speed up with it as well, the curtain will fall and rise again and again, with title cards for the new "Act" appearing. It's incredibly different from how he's been going about it since the beginning, but it's definitely an interesting change. I don't expect it to continue to go this way after Wano is completed.

To be fair Luffy was told that Tama can't leave the village to find somewhere that she can have food because she's waiting for Ace, and to Luffy just ripping off that bandaid might seem quicker. Besides, I doubt Luffy himself has recovered completely from losing Ace so spending time to slowly build up to that would probably hurt him more as well.

Otama's power is based off of the Japanese tale of Momotaro, who befriended his animal companions (a dog, a pheasant and a monkey, the same animals the original Admirals are named after) with kibi dangos. The more you know.

The style is not something exclusive to Wano per se. It's due to Tatsuya Nagamine, the director of Film Z and Broly, taking over the role of Series Director from Toshinori Fukusawa from Episode 892- onwards. There's also a new character designer.
