They don't realize that most of the times. That's the problem. Those people tend to not realize that they hold different standards for different people. It's why I sometimes ask men if they would be happy knowing someone shouts the thing they shout to their wife, sister, a friend, or if they would like to knock that person to the ground when doing so. Sometimes that makes them realize that they continue to contribute to awful behavior that is not called out enough. Unfortunately some women also are contradicting sometimes: I literally saw someone on Facebook as a woman complain how MeToo increasingly appeared to be riddling every organisation or profession on the planet and that it was wild it was this wide, and that she wasn't surprised it was this big, but more that it took so long for some form of accountability to start happening. Not that long after, she shared an (obviously copied, because without spelling errors) post saying that "men can't do or say anything ever to women again because they can be called sexist immediately. I never hear a remark from construction workers anymore. What are we doing people!?" It was wild.

For clarification, the 2 in "bisexual" is "my gender" and "not my gender" - Which covers a lot more than just 2 genders. This definition has been around for decades. First time I saw it in print was the Bixeual Manifesto from 1991. That's over 30 years people have had to get used to the idea that bisexuality does NOT imply the existence of only 2 genders. Actually, Baphomets origins have nothing to do with paganism. The name is a French corruption of Mahomet (Muhammad) and was the idol that the Catholic Church accused the Knights Templar of worshipping in its campaign against the order. The image of the androgynous goat does come from paganism however. It is the Greek god Pan, who was the god of shepherds and nature.

I believe in God and I was raised to be a Bible nerd, so I wear multiple pride bracelets in the patterns of the rainbow flag, pan flag, demisexual flag, and demigirl flag so people don't assume I'm homophobic, I have to come out to as few people as possible, and to offset the general Straight Vibe™. Plus, if anyone is like "well you didn't *tell* me" I can just be like "I've been wearing a pride bracelet every day since you've met me and you thought I was just... an ally??" Unfortunately, most people are impressively oblivious to the brightly colored bracelets on display every time they see me.

5:25 the military used to have a don't ask don't tell approach to lgbt. you could join up, so long as no one knew you were lgbt. now you're allowed to be openly gay and trans and whatnot without being kicked out for it. which, good thing, or else the navy and marines would lose a LOT of members (i am only half joking about that last part)

Rainbows has always stood for peace, serenity, for embracing change and welcoming things about yourself whether ready to accept them or not. The rainbows were never one to hide in shadows but instead are meant to embrace every aspect of their growth and transformation and let it run free. Out and available for any who are dealing with things to know where it's safe to go, where they won't be turned and rather be given the chance to learn who they truly are and embrace that person and for others to learn more about them in comfort and accepting without the whole all questions are not just automatically stupid questions, like when asked with the serious desire to understand who you truly are and what makes you seriously tick

Prepare to have your mind blown (okay, a lot of you probably know this). In the 50s, and probably before and after, there were "educational" videos shown to children in the US about gay men, saying that they were "sick" and that they were p-words by nature who "recruited." Like, the idea that being born LGBTQ+ could be natural wasn't even considered. I saw one of the films and it was creepy af. My dad grew up with that idea and believed it for decades. Over time he became fine with the notion that he was born a cis hetero man, and gay men were born gay too. Then, through a friend, he started supporting gay marriage. He's 91. It's never too late to change when presented with new information. It's sad and a little pathetic that some people choose not to. And that they're soooo loud about it!

​@@martagibons4266the I in lgbtqia means intersex, this is identifyable at birth. So that itself pokes a lot of holes in your argument, but to poke more. Is anyone born a man? No they're born a baby. Is anyone born homophobic? No they learn to be. Is anyone born religious? Again no you learn to be. Is anyone born gay? This could be seen either way, because learning to be gay isn't possible so that implies it is nature, but you don't know until later on in life what group you are interested in. Nobody is able to choose their attraction, bisexual pansexual people ect can suppress it, that doesn't make them not bi it makes them hiding from themselves, if you are attracted to both John and Susie and chose Susie you are at the very least bi.

30:39 Gentle reminder that being narcissistic/having NPD is not inherently a bad thing. Just because it’s being hurled at us as an insult doesn’t mean being mentally ill or having a cluster B personality disorder needs to be taken as one. Lots of us here in the community are gay, but pick any label in the initialism that isn’t your own and ask whether you would be offended to be called that. So long as it wasn’t misgendering you, you’d recognize the mistake and the malicious intentions of the insulter but also recognize that the label and associated concept was not an inherently wrong thing to be. Please endeavor to have that same energy for mental illness/neurodivergence/disability. To be or have any of those things does not make a person broken or more dangerous.
