I really, really miss Bob Desnoyers. I believe I was the first guy he met at Sweetwater High School when his family moved to National City from Mechanicville, NY. We played together in several bands and had amazing good times. I've been listening to all the Jamul cuts over and over for the last month. What a good band. Bassist John Fergus passed away recently. I guess we all have to go eventually but it's so sad when good friends go away.

This is the missing link between Creedence Clearwater Revival & Steppenwolf. The lead singer, probably Steve Williams here does sound a little like John Fogerty but with a pinch of John Kay (Steppenwolf) tone in a Fogerty style. That reason alone should have made them a success. The only reason this band didn't score more heavily is because of the glut of great music that was released in that era. Otherwise, no reason. Perfect FM radio music. This band was excellent. The LP reached #93 on Billboard in 1970. What I like is that they recorded covers also but the songs were totally reinvented by Jamul -- no copying of the original note for note. Great Bob Desnoyers guitar on "Jumpin Jack Flash." Bob Desnoyers & John Fergus -- RIP

Great!!!!! I LOVE the sounds of psychedellica in the morning!!!! There is absolutely NOTHING like the bands and the deep album cuts sounds of the late 60s and early 70s. It is such a shame that this type of music fell by the wayside because of crap and shit-sounds of disco, punk and new wave. Music never recovered. it just devolved and declined. The deaths of Hendrix and J. J. left such a void and eventually opened the door to a lesser style of music.

Another great album from the time of great rock records. Some other American bands with one album release each that you may find interesting would be Valhalla from 1969 and Tin House 1971 and Third Power 1970. American band Sir Lord Baltimore (the first band to have their music described as "heavy metal") had two great albums in this same time period. Cheers.

I used to see these guys in a small club in Chula Vista when I was in the Navy stationed in San Diego. I believe they initially called themselves the Jamul City Funk Band. They had at least one opening slot for some British heavies at the SD Sports Arena, I forget who even though I was there ha ha. Maybe the Who in 1970. Fun times.
