Handel's Water Music. A hornpipe from it. I've played the Water Music with the orchestras I've been in that I have it memorized. It's a good fit for the subject, though it was composed to be played on a royal barge on the Thames River on a nice day. I'm sure the pinons, greasewood, rabbit brush and sage really were glad for a drink.

The rain is never predictable, it can happen any time of the year. If you can endure the heat (sometimes 100 Fahrenheit) then summer is best when you occasionally get monsoon rains. Otherwise spring or autumn is wonderful.
