Jan. 6 Journalist Facing an FBI ARREST Reveals Who’s Calling the Shots

The FBI has ordered investigative journalist and Blaze Media correspondent Steve Baker to turn himself in, but he believes the full story is even more corrupt than it sounds. Baker is facing misdemeanor charges connected to his reporting at the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. But he still hasn’t been told what the charges are. Steve joins Glenn to lay out how he’ll respond. For starters, the FBI told him to show up in shorts and flip flops so he can be marched out in an orange jumpsuit and leg chains - which is an extremely unprecedented move. But Steve tells Glenn what he’ll wear instead. And he also explains who he believes is really behind his arrest and the prosecution of many others who were at the Capitol: “There is ever more evidence of the insane corruption at the top of the Capitol Police…they are more powerful than Congress itself.”

I was recently arrested by the FBI at work for the same thing: entering the Capitol on January 6th. The FBI raided my house while I was in jail and I've been charged with the same 4 misdemeanors. I'm not a huge Trump fan but attended the protest that day to take photos, which I've done for some of the women's marches and BLM protests. I was not wearing any pro Trump clothes, waving any banners or signs, nor was I chanting. Beyond "hi" or an occasional nod, I didn't interact much with anyone as far as I can recall. I was not one of the first people inside but waited for things to die down before approaching an open door on the northwest side of the building. Police were posted nearby outside and some cops were chatting with protesters right inside the entrance. I entered tentatively to see if they were still allowing people in and no police stopped me. I remember seeing officers lined up inside and 1 said "welcome" though I'm not sure if it was directed at me. I entered a crypt area and police told us not to go further than that. There was no "you must leave now" or "get out of the building". I figured I was safe and continued snapping photos. Fast forward 3 years and the FBI arrests me and I spend the day in leg chains and handcuffs. I'm now on unpaid leave and looking for work. I can't believe the money the government is willing to spend to prosecute people like me. I did armed security for a government contract and I'm guessing prosecutors will bring that up to claim I should have known better. In my line of work, if we don't want someone to enter a restricted space, we tell them to leave. We don't welcome them in and tell them they can stand in a certain area. If I had been told to stay out, I would have stayed out as would many, many others there that day.
