I think even Colbert showed a great deal of grace towards Adam as a guest, letting Adam get a lot said without grilling the man. But are we supposed to just forget that he still helped build Donald Trump as President? It was only four years ago that he was where J.D. Vance is now, cozying up to the MAGA movement. Mistakes are one thing, but his atonement might just be too little too late. Trump had a strong chance to win another term and the first term never should have happened, to start with. The then director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, who was appointed by trump, was told by trump admin to hand over all the information regarding anyone who claimed to have been witness, somewhere on the order of 3,000 people, and only investigate the ones allowed by the trump admin. That is in testimony from Christopher Wray in a senate subcommittee.

False equivalence. Traveling south at 50 mph means he is immune to prosecution. Therefore, trump jr. would only see his daddy if his daddy came to see him.

Justice Thomas clearly is. I'd agree Trump is as well, but at least with Trump we have seen some action on accountability. There has been a distinct lack of discussion on criminal accountability for Thomas. Also, Cavanaugh is very apparently a rapist yet the government sees fit to cover that up, just as they did for Thomas. Congress can go through the toothless ceremony of impeachment for Thomas, but the DOJ should have been pursuing criminal charges against Thomas years ago. Tax fraud, if nothing else. Nothing gets a resignation faster than prosecution, ask Spiro Agnew.

I've not been a fan of too many republicans , but Mr. Kinzinger is possibly the most reasonable and rational person I've listened to from the right. Hoping in the future he has a chance to bring the party around to a more sane version so the hateful rhetoric can cease and we all can find a way to live together instead of demonizing the other side no matter which side we're on even people like me that reside in the middle...

CORRECTION: It is NOT a classified documents case. Trump is NOT currently charged with retaining classified info under the 18 U.S.C. § 1924 statute. The 32 counts against Trump under the Espionage Act statute 18 U.S.C. § 793(e), are about Trump's "Willful Retention of National Defense Information" (NDI) when he was no longer POTUS and failing to return them to the lawful authorities when asked (pg 32). Note, the 18 U.S.C. § 793(e) Espionage Act counts do not require the NDI documents be classified either. In fact Doc #11, "Undated document concerning military contingency planning of the United States" (pg 34), is not listed as having any classification markings in the indictment. Classified access for Trump's lawyers only came up because 31 of the 32 NDI docs are also classified, besides being NDI. Jack Smith narrowed the focus of those counts to simple open and shut issues of did Trump have NDI and not turn it over to the lawful authorities when asked. Trump claiming the NDI docs are his property, is proving the intent to willfully retain the NDI under the Espionage Act statute 18 U.S.C. § 793(e) with his OWN words. This is a National Defense Information (NDI) case.

While concerned, I can't help but feel that the majority of voters have common sense and will vote Blue. I'm more concerned about the Electoral College; every time it overrode the popular vote, it benefited a Republican.
