That tree at the end is permanently ingrained in my psyche. Forever my favorite dream.

Remembering seeing this way back in the 90's, I feel like it might have been the first time I ever saw something that took a 180-degree turn at the end and made me go, _"Wait.....what??"_ For a 10 year old kid, this was pretty mind-blowing.

The ending sure compels you to view our position in the grand scheme of things from a whole different perspective, doesn't it? The "Beyond The Mind's Eye" video series was on the ground floor of the beginning era of computer-generated video, and it is very important that we preserve creations such as this, for that very reason. Excellent music that accompanies this - the continuity audio to video fits like a glove.

I cannot agree more. The Minds Eye series was an example of cutting edge computer animation at the time and it was dazzling. The video and music timing was incredible. Did Jan Hammer create the music around the video segment or vice versa? I don't know. Watched the VHS cassette with my kids countless times in stereo.

@@Trondogful Thank you for responding! I'm not sure but I conjecture the video was created first, then the music to accompany it, but that's just me guessing! Your reply just appeared in my inbox and compelled me to watch this again - I always love it. Have you seen any of the other videos in the series? Thomas Dolby is featured in "Valley Of The Mind's Eye" in the cassette "The Gate To The Mind's Eye" - if you haven't seen/heard that one, here's a link to it - the uploader provided an excellent summary of the whole cassette: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6Soh62qeMpnpck I was fortunate to acquire both of them at a local record store some years ago for, like, fifty cents each! Take care

I still have this VHS all these years later. I hope our younger friends watch this and appreciate where true CG art began.

As a kid, I remember when my dad used to go to Radio Shack, there was a demo computer showcasing this. I always liked it.

@@SSGLGamesVlogs Great memory! It was always fun to go to Radio Shack, wasn't it? That's where I first saw DOOM, they had it running right at the front of the store. It's too bad they're no longer around.

You have to understand. When I saw this in 1992, It melted my brain. I imagined all the machines, every time they did a core dump, reset a program, or moved a file as doing this. This was the struggle of life and how it unfolded by our creators. It altered my my mind, and made me see simple machines as something equal and lifelike. I cannot overstate the gravity of this video to me.
