I cannot help but think of New York every time I hear this. I did play the CD version in my car driving over the Bay Bridge into San Francisco, and man it was surreal!

God this is so melancholic. I wasn't even alive in the 80s and this speaks to me so profoundly.

For all its flaws, the show, score and all, captured a moment in the '80s.

TV Peaked with Miami Vice.....after that TV went downhill.

Well, not really. There were some brilliant TV shows at the time of or after Vice like Moonlighting, Wonder Years, Northern Exposure, Crime Story or more recently Mad Men. But to be perfectly honest - yes, Miami Vice was television's tour de force and that will never change.

I remember this episode well as I was jazzed to hear the New York theme again, yet it seemed odd as it didn't fit the scene of Crockett talking to the judge in Miami. Still, its Jan Hammer so his music sounds awesome regardless of the scene.

+Ludo Somnus: Melodically, it fits the scene. You just have to forget the thematic link to N.Y.C.
