My Piano Instructor had me perform this work to a large audience when I was a teen. Though my stage-fright was intense, it was lost while my being became immersed in the beauty of this piece. Though sounding difficult, this work is actually pleasantly easy. I love 2:20, (approximately) in. I miss you, Olga!

I first saw and listened to Jan playing this work a few months ago, when by chance I discovered his miraculous talent. He was 14 years old at the time and from the reverse angle views of the stage it appears it may have been for a competition. The exquisite performance one hears exhibits a leap in his virtuosic skills at the keyboard, but I miss the younger Jan for his body movements with the music. perhaps the outdoor film setting was a bit cool, temperature wise. But this studio recording is something to behold, serene, calming at peace in my personal world. Bravo Jan! ...Bravo!

風景非常好看 ! 結束時的黃昏氣氛更是迷人 ! 看到港口讓我想起以前我也曾做過基隆港的白描風景古典詩,自認用的點子還不錯😅 ; 而看到仿金字塔的現代建築,也忽然感應到,古代金字塔似乎都建在少雨之處!？古人根據祖傳經驗(？),誤認為尖端易引電,有雷電就會有雨水,殊不知這可能只是倒因為果的錯覺!？所以驗證失敗後,人們只好被迫撤離該貧脊之處,不知道有沒有猜錯？猜錯就糗大了😅

Hamburg, Germany. One of the buildings seen in the various background long shots is Hamburg's Philhamonic Orchestra Hall; It is easily identifiable for its roof composed of numerous undulating sharp, high peaks. Jan hinmself is playing the piano at the staircase of a newer, far more dramatic addition to Hamburg's low rise skyline, a harborside structure known as the Dockland's Office Building. A pity its side elevations could not have been captured.

@@Restavit64 Hamburg has undergone a largely unnoticed revitalization over the past two decades. Its old harbor canals are no comparison to Venice, but still the restoration has been striking. Worth a visit. As for Jan Lisiecki, it's impossible not to love him. Of his three performances of the Andante spianato I've been able to find, it's difficult for me to determine which one is the best. Sometimes I think the 2009 recital is the one. Best wishes for your summer holiday, Perhaps Jan will be playing In Germany?!
