It is interesting how the audience could not even contain their applause before he played the last notes!

Zimmerman is a Chopin GENIUS. Ding Thai Son has a very whimsical and poetic version, Kate Liu has a very romantic and endearing version, Lang Lang has a very virtuoso rendition but THIS, this is such a balance between all of them... this is fantastic! Zimmerman does NOT let you down. His Chopin Ballades are Amazing as well. This and Yundi Li's are probably my favorite at this point.

@@davidhertzberg Although Zimerman is my favorite pianist,I prefer Halina's version much more.I feel that he is rushing in some parts and i couldnt enjoy the piece as I wanted...Whats your opinion?
@davidhertzberg3 жыл бұрын
@@cookie-dq6zj Zimerman is only 19 years old in this recording... age has a way of slowing things down a bit, for most people anyway. :)

Reading the year 1975 this was the year when Krystian Zimerman won the Chopin Competition. Imagine this was part of his repertoire before a jury. I like it so much! :D

Bravissimo. Nice tempo and excellent interpretation. Very elegant as well. Crazy to think that Zimmerman played this when he was only 18

Being able to read along, is so very satisfying and surely enhances the listening pleasure. At least for me. Thank you for turning the pages, david. And . . . for putting your focus on the fabulous Krystian Zimerman!

Reaching virtually every possible sentiment of my being, Chopin surely was the *Master of the Polonaise*. How could anyone stay unaffected by this marvelous composition ... and performance ... Thank you david !

Wunderschöne Interpretation dieses romantischen und brillanten Meisterwerks im lyrischen doch gut artikulierten Tempo mit elegantem doch entschiedenem Anschlag sowie völlig effektiver Dynamik. Wahrlich genialer Pianist!

I love listening to Zimerman but the interpretation of rubinstein for this piece is more something. But for the age of zimerman when he played this piece is unimaginable

This was during the chopin competition when he was much younger I believe. But still, I find this very good.
