When we drove this, we did the whole loop…we got to check out the place where Charles Lindbergh was laid to rest (I guess you’d only know him if you love Aviation). But since we did the whole loop, the south side of the island is an actual coastal drive and had breathtaking views from both sides, the oceans and the mountains. There were a couple of sections where the roads weren’t paved and gets a bit sketchy 😅 so having a jeep or a truck would help. I think a regular car would still work, but I’d prefer having an off road car driving through it. We always joked the chicken was called “huli-huli” because the locals were probably Filipino and caught wild chicken to barbecue 😂.

7:03, Of course the kids don't go for a super long and zigzag road trip because of motion sickness and narrow road, even though it's popular for Hawaiian residents.
