@Monique Ouellete : Exactly. Of all the eighties songs I've ever heard (and I know at least twelve hundreds of them), there is none that looks like this one. This is more than a hit of the year 1989 : this is a masterpiece of its time ; the eighties decade at its full maturity.

Blown away when I first heard this. Man those synths and that bass (programmed to sound like real funk bass on those 16ths!) and that clicky guitar, and that, well, everything about it. The chord progressions. That lead up to the synth guitar solo - those chords! Gives me goose bumps. I loved her look, her voice. Freaking awesome track.

Honestly, Jane Child is one of the most underrated artist of the 1980s. This song was just beautiful.
@casperblackcat1975 Жыл бұрын
Jane is simply a musical generous, so talented she not only plays most instruments & producers her own music, but In this song she plays the keyboards the way they should be played, Good to see that she stood up to the record companies & wanting things on her terms not many artists have the guts to do that, I'm In Australia & our 80s music stations are crap I was listening to a music station In the U.S. & heard this song for the first time, but now I'm totally addicted the 80s were such a remarkable decade for music.

Interesting mix - can you share where it came from? It's not the exact album mix without the vocals - perhaps a rough mix, since the album mix sounds a little more polished. But it's definitely sourced from the same multitrack master tape as the album version. This song is such a great Fairlight Series 3 workout, it's a shame they never put the instrumental on the CD singles.
