Even though Skip is not well prepared, he has lots great actors on. Jane Greer, I couldn't stop looking at her, WOW ! Both women sound like good people. 1985 interview. The most important thing is, he has so many legends on from Hollywood. I've watched may of these shows, and the guests are so great.

I could not have said it better. I don't care for Skip's off the wall & erratic interviewing skills, but he certainly was able to have some big & amazing names from Hollywood's Golden Age as guests ! Amazing & awesome !

Such a very great, under rated, unappreciated and mostly forgotten classic. Kirk Douglas, Robert mitchum and of course the wonderful Jane Greer. The way she changed from good girl to bad girl at the last half of the movie was really so surprising and shocking that I have never forgotten that movie and her superior and brilliant performance!😱 Why on God's green earth wasn't she recognized and supported by the academy awards? Probably that sorry s.o.b. Howard Hughes. So very sad he blacklisted her and all that great and exceptional talent was wasted away, unappreciated and the world didn't get to enjoy! God bless this dear woman.

This guy's maybe the worst interviewer ever. At one point Jane Greer says of Howard Hughes, who owned RKO Pictures, the studio that employed her at the time, "He told me he wouldn't put me in any movies" -- and the host doesn't even ask her WHY. Hughes refused to cast Jane Greer in any movies? How does anyone not follow up on that??

I would have liked to see him interview Robert Mitchum. The late great Mr Mitchum did not suffer fools gladly. I don't think he'd have put up with Skip's interrupting for more than five minutes. He'd have either got up & walked out or told Skip to shut up & let him finish.

I may be wrong but I think I know why this man interrupts everybody while talking 90 miles an hour, rudely not ever showing the guests their due respect etc. Maybe he doesn't mean to be perceived as this and he is so very excited and happy to see and talk to them and he has so very many things that he wants to ask but he is very rushed with so very little time! Why was this man always only given or just allowed only 30 minutes or less with each guest? Most of the other interviewers are allowed much more time and they're more relaxed in their interviews .. they are also better produced with bigger budgets, a class studio that includes excellent sound and video equipments. Sadly,he is probably doing his very best with what the cheap producers have given him but he is laughed at, judged by everyone for this poor quality kind of show. Still, if we didn't have his pitiful shows, we would never have gotten to see and enjoy all his many interviews!🤔😱🙁😌🤗👍 p.s. with all of his anxiety etc- medications such as prosaic would have helped this rushed man. Deep inside he seems to be a good and descent person.
@aeichler3 жыл бұрын
You are right on every count. These shows were produced with zero budget, mostly in high school auditoriums with students running the cameras and controls, or at cable companies. No one got paid, including Skip E. and he even had to pay for the tape. He never had time to research anyone and would quickly scan their bios while the cameras were being set up. Also, everyone who came on the show was there because they wanted to be and most would never have been interviewed by anyone at all. Bigger stars like Tony Curtis. Janet Leigh and Shelley Winters, loved coming on. Skip E was a huge fan and never judged anyone by their status. They were all stars to him and he never turned anyone down.
@CharlieChilders-wm9gb3 жыл бұрын

Comics are not funny. Gag writers are funny. The industry lacks gag writers, thus it lacks comics. Not to worry. Hollywood has re-invented itself and has put an end to comedy as we know it. For me, the alternate is not only not funny, it is sick!!!
