There is a film called "There's No Business Like Show Business" Irving Berlin wrote it. Fern was right. The film starred Ethel Merman, Donald O'Connor, Marilyn Monroe, Johnnie Ray and Mitzi Gaynor. It was made in 1954.

I remember when I was a boy in the fifties - my parents absolutely hated Gracie Fields. They said she had "run away" to America as soon as war was declared. So, I guess they had been subjected to the propaganda. I never knew about her having to leave. Maybe she was hounded out of the country. I'll have to look it up.

I really hope Horrocks was joking about there not being another movie in which Merman sings, “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” bc if she’s serious, she’s dead wrong and the guest host was right! In fact, the other movie is called, “There’s No Business Like Show Business”!! Marilyn Monroe was in the movie, as well, along with Donald O’Connor and Mitzi Gaynor. I didn’t watch long enough to see if Horrocks was serious or not, bc I was too annoyed with her.
