NOONE had, has or will have more pure rampant ENERGY than Jane's back then!

i'd give it all to see any band put a 1/10 of this passion and effort into their music as these guys did. Greatest band EVER.

Listened to that song atleast 500 times. I never picked up on that line. ...now you see. The songs just keeps on living.... Listen to "I would for you" by Janes when you need to bring it down a notch. Good luck getting over the girl.

This is a band where each member brought his own style and talent, just like The Doors did. Just listen to Ritual De La Habitual over and over again for a few days and you will pick up on alot of the instrumentation from each member, it's amazing , so amazing that now I can speak to women without throwing up and my school grades have improved and my lazy eye has never looked better and the calouses on my hands have gone and my mom no longer tucks me in at night and so on and so forth.

See "Jane's Addiction - Pigs in Zen - Detroit 1988" - same show. On Pigs in Zen, Perry refers to Detroit alot. Dave and Perry's hair say '88 to me. On this Stop audience does not sing along at end prob because it's a new song to them. Just because you saw them in '88 doesn't mean they didn't play Stop at another show. Last note - I bought a VHS bootleg of this show in '92 at a shop in NYC which said it was Detroit '88. YES YES YES!!!!!

part of the charm is the energy generated from the clash of different style directions, which doesn't usually last long. it's like the velvet underground and nico, or the pixies.

I am jealous you are new to Janes Addiction. I remember the 1st time I got into Janes was when Ritual De Lo Habitual came out. I was thrilled to learn they had 2 other powerful albums out. I listened to them to the point the tapes skipped. As for the White Stripes, I think people will still be listening to their stuff 15 years down the road because their sound is unique, catchy and real. ---Now go buy Nothing's Shocking by Janes and listen to the ENTIRE album with head phones.

They absolutely did not play Stop on the Nothing's Shocking tour. Saw them on both. I can tell by their appearance and stage set up that this is from Ritual, which was 1990. Not that it matters. Killer vid.

That might be wrong that Perry keeps that much of the profit, but really he probably was 62.5% of Jane's. The dude had the vision and took all the members to a whole new level. I never did read any books about Perry's life or anything...
@ynotfalco17 жыл бұрын
Maybe because it's the 1st if not one of the 1st times they ever played it live.

Dude - don't forget Perkins and Avery -- arguably the tightest rhythm section of their time. Too bad they didn't all stay together and make more music. That said, PFP was pretty awesome stuff. You gotta admit the creative powerhouse was Perry. No doubt he was at his finest with Jane's but gotta love his perseverence!!

Yeah, claiming Stop was played on the 88/89 tour is just BS. Dude, you need to change that. I saw this tour, and it ABSOLUTELY was not played on this tour. yeah, I got your email about them writing Ritual songs pre 90, but they did NOT play them on the Nothings Shocking tour. no, no no.

Forget Strays.That's a sellout album. Although .But if you're a fan of music you will get why "those in the know" always dig Janes Addiction...and always will.and Fishbone, were their biggest fans. Everytime you listen to Janes starting out you will find yourself liking different songs on each album more than the other to point where you can't make up your mind which one you like best.You listen over and over, until that disc skips..that's when "you're in the know".

What a beautiful mess this band was. Saw them in the early 1990s and they put on the best live show I've ever seen. It's too bad Perry Farrell kept 62.5% of all profits the band made to himself. Jane's Addiction was all about the energy and sound, not about one guy! Check out the solo work Perry has done since and it's laughable. Just goes to show that you have to have respect for your band members. Check out the book Whores: An Oral Biography of Jane's Addiciton and Perry Farrell.

Music isn't that cool anymore. If you were a twenty year old Perry Farrell or Dave Navarro would you really be inspired by Fallout Boy, Maroon 5 or any of this weak ass emo, goth stuff? Rock and roll used to be wild. These new kids don't want to rock the boat. And since the grunge movement made everyone a revel what the hell is the point anymore?
