You cease to amaze me. Top Tier reaction. Your commentary at the end of Crazy, Classic, Life is why I subscribe to you. Just fucking incredible and genuine reactor. It get’s no more authentic than your reactions. You wear your heart on your sleeve and it pours out in every reaction. Now I’m catching up on your reactions, if you haven’t done her album Age of Pleasure yet, I highly recommend it. I would love your reaction on it.

P.S. This album is EVERYTHING!! One of my all time faves, I’m glad you loved the album 🥰 Fun fact: Prince helped produce some of the sounds for this album before he passed away, such as with “Screwed” and “Make Me Feel” having the more obvious sonic influence. I cannot wait for you to watch the short film Janelle made along with the album!! The visuals definitely add more context to the songs (like your fave “Pynk” 😉), and is also an absolute sci-fi masterpiece!! Thank you thank you always!!! 😘😘😘

I’ve been waiting for more people to react to this. Watch the dirty computer emotion picture as well! Janelle said she wrote this album for everyone who is marginalized. Lgbtq+ people. Black people. Poor people etc. The first song Dirty Computer. Is talking about how certain people are viewed as needing to be cleansed and fixed. The album is meant to celebrate the marginalized. Janelle is black and pansexual herself. Prince also inspired her and worked with her on her albums. So you might hear some of his influence.The emotion picture adds a lot more to the experience. It blew me away. Here’s the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJWrY4avYqefhKc

I didn’t see anyone address this directly- Pink is a song about p*ssy. Janelle is pansexual, attracted to all genders, and this was a song celebrating women and the power/beauty of pink…. Female genitalia. I know you said over a year ago that you were keen to watch her video album of this release, and I really hope you either do or did. (For example, this song comes into VERY clear context from the video). Dirty Computer (Emotion Picture) is the visual album she released with the audio album, and it tells an entire Black queer polyamorous freedom narrative storyline that is visually gorgeous, and brings a TON of context to the songs- it’s an audio/visual/narrative masterpiece. Idk if you’ll see this comment since it’s been so long since you posted this reaction, but I really hope you do, and that you check out Dirty Computer (Emotion Picture) either on your own, or in a reaction video. Love you and your reactions btw.

@bennshouts Also worth knowing, Prince wrote the bass line for Make Me Feel, and worked with her on the album production. He passed away shortly before it was released.
@cultivatinggrace Жыл бұрын
@bennshouts also, what she’s saying in American is that she’s Black and Queer (both in sexuality and in gender identity), and SHE’S American. This message is quite a bit more clear in the video album version (the Emotion Picture) than it is in the audio only release.
