Janet Jackson is an underrated legend and deserves all the love and honors. She is the real Queen of Pop.

that's what we all wanted, but I 100% respect janet's decision to work with her brother only once. I honestly think in recent years, had Michael still been with us, they would have done something together. but Michael asked her a few times, during the rhythm nation and janet eras to do a duet, she kindly declined because she was still proving herself at that time, despite having massive success and didnt want people to think she was trying to ride his coattails. by the time they did scream, she was already a pop icon, so she made a great decision to wait. I know Michael and janet were incredibly close, they supported each other so much, janet had so much to prove being his sister and she's far from just his sister, a legend who is now in the rock n roll hall of fame. amazing.

This Goddess embodies every perfect quality of the meaning of "Human Being". She has never thought of herself as being above any single person on this planet, and has never put herself first. Janet Jackson has ALWAYS stood for equity, equality, acceptance, unity, empathy, inclusion and global brother- and sister-hood. What a magical lesson she has taught us all - and will continue to teach every new generation. A true chameleon in every positive and awe-inspiring way, Janet has shown us determination, pain, ecstasy, sexuality, angst, loneliness, self-exploration, honesty, dignity, social awareness, joy, loss, high voltage, raunch, philanthropy and spirituality...all through her music, her videos and her continual drive to bring awareness to all of the qualities - both good and bad - that make us all innately Human. No one single other woman singer has ever done this so AUTHENTICALLY, CONSISTENTLY or COMPASSIONATELY. (Let's spare ourselves, for just a moment, from the comparisons with the other major icon who immediately comes to mind...) Janet Jackson brought such an awareness to the planet about social ills and the need to preserve our integrity for the sake of future generations. But, she was also equally as skilled at showing us her sensual side, with the most slick, sexy and explosively erotic expressions that just seemed to come so naturally, that she was able to transition between these and her political persona so effortlessly, without one ever compromising the other. Janet Jackson is THE COMPLETE PACKAGE. The consummate performer. Powerful Black Woman. Earth Mother... Gift of absolute Glory to this world.

It must hurt her so much that Michael is not here because out of all the siblings she was his favourites. They were the bestest of friends from when they were kids. He always bugged her up. He never tried to overshadow her. She used to call him and ask for things like if she could steal “a dance” he made or if she can burrow his dancers or hats and he ALWAYS GAVE THEM TO HER. She was his baby sister. They used to get through the hard times together when they were kids when their father was mean to them. Michael’s favourite sibling was his baby sister. She left him out of this speech but I can tell The whole way he was standing there hugging her and the MOST happy for her. It must hurt so much. Thank you God for giving her baby Essa.
