That’s not the story at all. Kevin wanted Whitney from the beginning he waited 3 years for her from the late 80’s to ‘92. Quit telling false stories. Kevin has multiple articles & interviews where he explains this. “Whose the prettiest girl that can sing? “it was Whitney”

After that Kevin Costner says _"Peter dances to Rhythm Nation"_ and the host, Thomas Gottschalk, interrupts with _"Or maybe it was the brother."_ Sir P. Ustinov mumbles something after that and Kevin Costner says _"He's a nasty boy [...] nasty boy"_ - and something inbetween which I could not really hear (as the translator's voice speaks above Costner's voice). However, the translator says _"He's a nasty boy [for that remark, a really nasty boy for that remark]"._ Indeed a stupid remark. Props to Kevin Costner for calling out Thomas Gottschalk for that stupid comment he made. T. Gottschalk was making an allusion to Michael Jackson - without mentioning Michaels name explicitly. But we all know that he was trying to be "funny" with some sort of _"Michael's too feminin haha"_ - joke or whatsoever. At the end Thomas Gottschalk says _"This is the ... do you see, we Europeans ... he [Sir P. Ustinov] speaks five languages. Kevin is beyond proud, you [Kevin and Janet] speak English and that's enough for the rest of the world"_ - to which Kevin Costner responds with _"Right, right"_ (I think Kevin seems a little bit annoyed by Thomas. Can't blame him tho). Side note: most Europeans speak also only their traditional tongue and learn other languages at school and barley are *really* fluent in other tongues. So idk why Thomas was speaking of _"we Eruopeans"_ when in fact his english skillz are pretty basic.
