Naw, her style was totally influenced by her family. Even some of her videos are copies. Not to take anything away from Janet, she's a great artist in her own right, but her family absolutely impacted her sound, look, and much else. That's ok, artists take influence from one another all the time. MJ was influenced by James Brown, Fred Astaire, etc.
