Took me a while to realize why all of the sudden everyone is saying how Janet is so underrated and how she deserves to be recognized for her talent... Then I realize that I am 45 years old and that I have been appreciating and recognizing Janet's talent for the past 37 years LOL but yeah, Janet has been doing her thing for a long minute now and I now realize that all of you feeling like she hasn't been given her flowers are younglings just discovering her and yes, it's true that she hasn't been on top of the charts in the past 10 or so years because of obvious circumstances; Michael's death, her tough marriage to Wissam and becoming a mother almost 6 years ago... It's a lot to say the least... but This legend has been kicking down doors, and breaking glass ceilings fore over 4 decades now and she's still in the game though she's taken a few breaks here and there. I know I am rambling and I won't bore you for much longer but all I wanna say is just enjoy her huge catalog. Keep digging and you'll be surprised by all the diamonds you'll find :) and I am sure there are more gems coming in the near future.

I get what happened to her with the black balling but that was a career hit. When I hear underrated artist. I think of monifah or kee kee Wyatt, u know? Great artistry yet didn't get fully off the grown in their career. Either way though Janet was out in the grind era, no internet. She earned and received every award and recognition there is. Even up to 2019 , her Vegas shows , sotw tour, etc Have all been successful. Wonder if she will postpone the black diamond tour for now, anyone heard anything ?

I have always felt that even with her great success "before" the blacklisting she still was not given her due. Come on, Janet is "AMAZING"! I feel that it is because of racism, being female, Michael's sister, a member of the Jackson family and greatly talented etc. that they refused to acknowledge her greatness. And they still try (her blacklisting still continues) that mess today even "after" the Superbowl.
