I honestly think speed champions might almost be better for people who aren't massive car fans. They look great, the building experience is almost always fun, and if you don't know too much about cars, the inaccuracies don't matter so much

The Vantage is pretty solid. I especially like the rear. But, the Valkyrie is a masterpiece of design. Yes, it might have some imperfections, but it sure has one complex build.

these speed champions sets have slowly been turning me into a car guy. i don’t know anything about these cars or these racing teams but i keep buying them bc they’re that fantastic. i genuinely enjoy being able to have the cars in a medium that i’ve loved for a long time.

I'd say both models are really well done. The building techniques on the green car are really impressive. I prefer the Vantage, but, I'm not a huge fan of either. Green is my favorite color, and I like most greens, but not lime green, and especially not with gray. As for Aston Martins, I'd rather see the James Bond style of cars than these models. But, for what they are, they seem pretty well done.

Despite the canopy scaling issues, the Valkyrie looks great. In fact, that new canopy piece would be an improvement upon the one on the Ferrari LeMans prototype car! Modders assemble!

I really like that you put a very consice summary of the set in the title. Related to the speed champion line, i cant stand how bad the printed headlights look compared to using actual parts.

I'm more of a Lotus guy than Aston Martin.. maybe that is why the Lotus Evija canopy mistake bothers me more and why I prefer the Valkyrie even though I completely agree with Jang that it is very far from looking like the real car.

One of the few times i have to disagree. For me personally, the Valkyrie is the best Speed Champion all time, passing the Bronco from last year. I have to admit, the building experience is the most important part for me, and it's amazing how this model ist built, the angles the creativity, fantastic. But sure, cars like the Audi or Lamborghini are far more iconic and more accurate.

This comment made me go take another look at the Bronco from last year again and I don’t think I’ll ever get over how good it looks or feels. Just a triumph of legos design abilities. So glad to have it in my collection

This in my opinion is the most enjoyable build in this years set of speed champs. The Valkyrie looks amazing and the techniques used to build it are even better. Also the rear assembly on the vantage was cool too! (But I hate the stickers)

For me, the Valkyrie is a bit of a miss despite it's amazing build, whereas the Vantage looks much more pleasing in spite of its standard construction. Accuracy aside, the generally undersized wheels of 8-wide speed champions in combination with the oversized windscreen canopy, makes the Valkyrie look way too lengthy front to backl. Since these are ultimately made of Lego, I would go as far as to say that losing accurate details for the sake of proper proportions is more important, it needs to not only respect the source material but also its medium.

I was looking for a review on this set yesterday, so this is pretty much perfect timing lol I’m not a huge fan of how the Valkyrie looks, as soon as the canopy piece was moved forward it looked so much better. But I’m excited for the build. The Vantage looks amazing though, even though I’m not that familiar with the subject matter it stills looks like an awesome car! Can’t wait to pick this set up, thanks for another awesome review!

If i'm honest you can see thwt most of the budget went to the valkerie, but lego did a good job on the vantage to the point where i feel like arround 90% of the parts can be used to make multiple other aston martin's like a db from like 4 or 5 years maybe even earlier but that is because aston Martin haven't really made unique cars apart from very minor face lifts..

I might pick this up for the Vantage. The Valkyrie looks like a fun build, but there are even more glaring inaccuracies than you mentioned. The back end is very inaccurate if you look at the real thing. The exhaust pipes should be right next to each other, basically touching, and the wing should be flat, not wavy. Edit: I see what happened now after looking at more images. There have been a couple design iterations of the car. The LEGO model looks the version which did have more separated exhausts and a wavy wing. However, it's colored like the version that had the differences I mentioned.

In those colors, the Valkyrie bears a strong resemblance to a ninja go snake machine. The fangs used at the Vantage's grill also add to that impression.

Good job on getting that Aston grill on the the GT3 other than that it’s a nice car in itself but as a Vantage GT3: meh. Some interesting shaping/building on the valkyrie and quite an unique looking car in the end. In a solo pack, I would have been tempted by the Valkyrie, but as it is in a pack with the Vantage I’m gonna pass unless a good deal arise.

What i dont get about LEGO is their solution to the headlight problem of last year's Supra (3 stickers per headlight, as well as a few cars with 2 stickers per headlight). The new pieces are brilliant, but printed headlights make the pieces less reusable in other builds. I think we would all have been equally happy about the pieces if they were without prints and then a single sticker per headlight instead. We are used to stickers on Speed Champions cars so i wouldnt be bothered with those two extra.

I want to love this set but the lime and red combo on the valkyrie is just so bad.. (I know its based on the one from the picture, but the real one looks awful in those colors too)
