The seat as a print makes sense since it'll come in contact with the minifig, so they opted not to do a sticker which could either get damaged or come off with wear and tear of placing and removing the minifig.

I literally laughed out loud the first time I saw the triple nitrous setup from the real car being included in the scale car. That’s one of the funniest details to make sure they included in all the speed champion cars so far

$25 for this set is definitely pushing it, but if any theme is allowed to raise their prices it's speed champions. The quality and consistency is just so good with pretty much every speed champs set like you said jang. The sticker sheet does look a little bit terrifying, but overall looks sweet, no surprise it's sold out everywhere

My favourite Speed Champions set yet, just oozes Y2K goodness. Looking forward to picking this and Dom's Charger up when I next go out. Really hope they continue through each film. Han's RX-7 next maybe?

Thank you for pointing out the mold mark issue! It has been bugging me to no end as well, and it is only when building older sets that I realise things have actually been getting worse in that regard. Lego actually needs to learn from the past and start to make parts that do not have those marks on them, and I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for that.

Just picked this up. I only got it because I collect all the Speed Champions, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed the build and while I'm not a particular fan of the Fast and the Furious, I really like the model.

Lego has this on back order till March 1st. Might as well have released it with the other sets. Also apparently Barnes and Nobles system doesn allow this set to be sold till (you guessed it) march 1st.

I was impatiently waiting for that video to see how the Jang did applied the stickers for the sides graphics, I am not disappointed as always and will stick to it ! Not sure to find it tomorrow in shop but I hope I do.

you are right about the brick quality. the same with the color consistency. I hope there will come mods on rebrickable for this car, to make it more R34. it looks like the whole Knob skirt could/should have been smooth plates instead. do not understand why they used 4 x 2x1 plates there on both sides

I don't like the how the cheesewedges on the headlights don't match up for smooth surface. The studs on the hood actually could be removed woth the March 2023 sets having new mudguard piece stripped down now can have tiles on the same level as the studs would be. I love how the back window is the 4-wide version of the 6-wide canopy in the front. The rims are awesome as well as the rear lights and the nos bottles. I'm okay with the price considering the new prints on mudguards. Definitely will pick it up.

I'm really excited for this one for many reasons one we're getting that classic fast and furious car aesthetic. Two we're finally getting another right hand drive car since the 007 Aston Martin, and finally of course we're getting that Paul Walker figure, fourth we're getting something resembling a normal car I'm tired of speed champions always being supercars and hypercars where are the Honda Civic type Rs It's very unfortunate that it's sold out everywhere.

I knew that eventually with enough Gundam models under your belt the mold marks would get to you. Lego has been steadily improving for a while but they need to find a solution to some of their tile molds.

I agree with inflation and everything surrounding that. It rly shows the flaws of LEGO. It’s more premium and quality isn’t improved at all. Builds its fantastic but prints, stickers, QC, pretty bad.

Yes those mold marks. Good you mention it. I mentioned it 2 years ago. It was less worse than it is now, and people laughed it up. But it starts to get a lot worse lately. Yesterday I bothered me while building the new modular. I doubt asking for replacements would help, but may be I will do so, so Lego might see this as a serious problem too.

tbh, we are very lucky in the UK with pricing for speed champions. with 8-wide it jumped £5 from £12.99 to £17.99. the recent price hike has only gained £2 with many retailers still offering at typical price before the price hike. i would kind of feel annoyed by the rpuce hikes if i was in another currency. overall, i like the set but missed the chance to buy it and waiting on a restock

I think it was after this build that the SC designers decided to make those new wheel arches and chassis. The issue with the studs was so unavoidable, and so they designed the new pieces. It's a shame that it worked out like that, but it's still an amaing recreation. Mistakes are only a path to a greater future :)

For 20 I think it's real good, but at 25 it's stretching it a little. I was absolutely shocked to see a moulding mark this big it's like an ancient model kit from 1980. Let's say, it they improve on the second batch (because the first one is literally sold out everywhere), I would say it's the limit of what I would pay if they eventually scratch 30 I'll hop off because as much as I like it, you pay more and more for air/nothing. The set didn't improve and therefore became more expensive, but it just went up in price. Either way, its good to see some prints it helps justify the price, but also that's a lotta stickers. I need to grab my brick seperator and be very careful. Still, as a fan of the movie and still somewhat of a Lego fan I'll buy one if it comes into my shops again.

The stock situation is really really bad. Lego have had this set listed on their website for about a month, but they don't take pre-orders. I looked it up again on 1st Jan (the very day of release!) and its gone. Just gone. No option to place a back-order, or include it as part of a larger order to be shipped out later. Nothing. Tough luck. And they have the audacity to plaster over their website with various offers, such as free postage over £50, or the "gift with purchase", etc. How am I supposed to place an order, Lego?

Missed opportunity: some of the bottom studs could have been in trans blue instead of gray (would have been a cool bracket color to get). Too many stickers here, especially the small ones. The price should have increased only to 22 bucks, not jump to 25. I'd buy this used, even scratched, but never new. Great review, Jang.

I agree 10000% that the the design is GR-32 with a GTR-34 front Facsia and rear tailights. However, when the new 2022 Singles come out, I plan on grabbing an extra Pagonia Utopia and replacing the front wheel wells of this skyline with the Wheel Wells fron that as it is the new leveled wheel well/arches that will allow me to get rid of the studs on the top of the hood of this car, because those studs really bother me and right now I have some tiles added just to get rid of the studs, but boxes up the whole front end. I feel the strongest that the side quarter panel/shoulders are far more GTR-32 suggestable than an GTR-34 as well, and once again I will be using some Pagoni Utopia pieces to see if I can't get a more GTR-34 Shoulders/Quarter Panels! I will post pictures and an instructional on Rebrickable

Well, the cars are really huge, but this one, particularly, able to fit 3 minifigs (not only two front seats but full-sized rear "coach" is here) or even 4a after C-pillars removal. So, they grows up, yep, but for "civil-like" cars Skyline, Aston Martin DB5, Charger - they also got a fantastic capacity inside, like real 4-to-5 seats family cars.

It isn't, all of the cars coming out in March are also $25 and the two-pack is a bit more expensive than previous ones of the same part count too. It's part of Lego prices going up all around.

Apologies if this is a bit obvious, but how does one attach the bumper that's connected by the 2 yellow snap bricks? I've done all the steps according to the building instructions but for some reason the yellow snap bricks just won't click on/stick to the 2 brown shaft bricks on the main body no matter how much force I try.

I've been looking through all stores that could have it in my city, so far no luck. Some stores just don't have the new sets yet, some stores didn't get this set with the other new stuff. I highly recommend, for anyone who has the same problem DO NOT buy it from a reseller. DO NOT buy it for more than 25 dollars/euros. The car will come back. BE PATIENT. Wait for it come back in stock, because it will be back in stock. This is not a limited edition collectors model, it is a toy for children that us adults happen to collect. It will be resupplied, and it will not take years to come back. Don't go to ebay or what have you and buy the set for 35 dollars now, you are only wasting money, and worse, giving money to these horrible people who do scalping.

I'm gonna rebuild this car but with a stock white look. I agree that some of the shaping is off, but the front and rear ends are fantastic! Interestingly, I personally think that the wheel covers are TOO detailed and specialized, and they end up looking out of place. They're very distinctly the wheels on the movie car, but they're shaped too well to be Lego. Another thing is that at the $25 price point, that's as much as a Red Line Club Hot Wheels car. Sure those aren't easily as available and they sell out super fast, but I got a Nismo R34 with an opening hood and engine detail for $25 +shipping. It looks waaay more like an R34 and is a serious high-end collector's item.

The prices are starting to feel oppressive, $25 is too much for these cars. I have been collecting the Speed Champion line for years but might be very selective in how and where I buy them with these new prices.
