the designers did a great job with this and the burger truck. Being able to deploy the little shop as a full-fledged building adds so much play value

I do love that they kept the functionality of removing the food kiosk area like the Burger Van from last year, it just adds that much more playability & ease of insertion into a cityscape. I really do hope that in the coming years they keep this up with commerce vehicles like this because it's a simple feature that just adds a lot more playability with just one little thing

To me the Donut truck is 1 of the gems of this wave. The ambulance has the exact same dimensions for the box though. Seemingly it is made to be wacky play time. Mix and Match sort of. Like with the 3 vehicle set which has that ability within the set. That is apart from the ability to just have a stand somewhere and the truck seperate like Jang said. All in all great set, low price. Nothing to complain other than the silly "use your hands" thing.

When i saw this set for the first time it reminded me of the Citroën type H vann I say this because when i was a young child my parents would your France and we saw a lot of those things converted into either fruit stands or fast food placed alonside roads....very Iconic to me and Ive had the thought of getting this set and making it more like one of those or start from scratch

It is a nice build. While not the best option, the minifig can have its legs folded and sit. That makes his height more appropriate in the back.

I recently built a 5+ set from 2025 - the airplane vs hospital bed race car set - and 2 thick manuals for 70 pieces - use your hands on every other page. :( Feels like a step in the wrong direction to me, instructions wise, but like this Donut set, it was all prints which surprised me [Set 60459 for those wondering, and it has a great vital sign monitor print!]. I like the modularity of these City trucks and how they can leave the cargo behind. Excellent for young kids to play with!

So lego can do all-printed pieces in 20 dollars set but finds it difficult to include printed canopy for ARC170 starfighter?

LEGO never made any sense as a company so don't question anything ... Honestly I don't mind stickers, so we who make MOCs can not use them and actually use the pieces without ruining the look of custom builds. Once they factory print something on a piece that piece is useless in a MOC, it have zero value to me. What I would like rather to stickers be one of those water applied or similar, like once you decide to apply them they are perma on the piece if you want prints on it. Like the ones in Fun Whole sets. So that is best for both worlds.

The “use your hands” pages in sets like this is ridiculous. I thought Lego were trying to be more environmentally friendly. It’s a massive waste of paper. They could at least do something like showing the hands and step on one page. Would still use more pages than they need to, but at least it wouldn’t be too much more paper. Even if they used bigger pages

A really nice looking truck overall. I like that there's no strange colors visible from the outside, that's rare for a set of this age rating. I'm not a fan of them bringing "USE YO HANDS" over to 5+ sets though. It's an immense waste of paper for a company pretending to be trying to be enviromentaly friendly. I'm really glad they brought all prints over to 5+ though, so you win some you lose some I guess. Thank you for the great review Jang!

I am biased towards the look of pink-frosted donuts with sprinkles; I just think they're such a lighthearted image. But even without that I would genuinely like this set. Like the removable stall, like the shop worker. It's just fun. The hollow part was weird and as the instructions are for a 6+ was not expecting to question myself. When I covered gaps I did flip back to check if I missed a page.

Van looks neat, but it's sizing should allow a working minifig to service clients and generally, just see outside without squatting 😮

Haven't decided if I'm going to get this set or not yet. It does look nice, but doesn't grab me like the Burger Truck (which is awesome) or Penguin Slushie Van does. I will keep this set in mind for an order where I need an extra $20 to qualify for a GWP.

Everything's a print because Lego now considers stickers too advanced for 5 year olds, which was why that was also the case for the Burger Truck.

£18 seems good enough to me but the burger van went down as low as £12 so I'll just wait for a sale. It's great to see they didn't use stickers though.

Seems like both of the durability issues at the back could've been fixed by a 2x2 plate! Or even better, a 2x2 plate supported by a 1x2 brick and 1x1 plate. It's strange that they left that space hollow.

I just got this for the Year of the Snake and Toucan gwp. It'll sit in the basement like all my city sets until I'm ready to design and build a city. But I was looking forward to getting this truck. I have 3-4 years of backlog on city stuff now. That and super mario I'm collecting but not building yet. Or anything else meant for the city like Friend's. I rotate my Ninjago, Speed Champions, Architecture, and Star Wars on display right now.

Kind of a shame this doesn't seem to have way to close off the "serving area" while the car is on the go. That was always a fun little detail with the other food trucks.

Yeah I thought it's a Citroen at 1st. Think I commented about it on some of your other video about retro craze mods where they take a new Citroen van and mod it to look like a classic work van. Some look cool some are ... questionable. It does look like it was rather inspired by a Morris afterall.

I do not think this is a good set. A class below the pizza van and even the burger truck from 2024. An odd design of truck that is very tall especially the counter area, where it is taller than a minifigure. The wall of the shop portion is also too low for minifigues. This truck is also less pleasant to use than the burger truck with the shop portion removed. Its also sad to see new lego city vehicles not having number plates for vehicles anymore
