Sweet little bow , I don't personally like to have deflex in my bows and I don't think it's at all necessary. She's not a speed monster but I like how it shoots what I would call a Sweet bow . I wouldn't kick her outa bed lol . Armin always knows how to bring out the character in these bows he's like the Bill Moyers of archery except he talks to bows instead of people. The dialog is always entertaining.

Beautiful bow as always. I have a question that I've been curious to ask you since I found the channel. I've seen a lot of comments on Western focused archery forums that claim asiatic bows shot with thumb release aren't as accurate or can't be as accurate as modern recurve & Mediterranean style release. After shooting both for many years, what would you say? Would you shoot a better group at 30m with something like a Bearpaw Slickstick or any Asiatic bow of your choosing? Could be an interesting video.

its a matter of good training as always. modern bows make it just a bit easier. But you know, sit one with a modern recurve on a horse and see how he is doing. these bows are made for different purpose

Is "mpf" the new measurement for stiffness or for strength? 😉 The white... Yes there are some beautiful white bows, but it's hard to make it without make it look cheap. I think that's related to the mostly white limbs of the beginner bows... The sound of this bow to me is like stampling into construction wood. Me no like. But some will love it. I prefer a smooth "foomph" over a "TANG", but it's a matter of taste.

I think it's the sound of the hard ceramic or plastic plate in the arrow pass. I have an AF turkish bow that has one and it pretty much always has that sound.

I don't know about the bow, but I had ordered a ring, arrows, and a quiver (with an additional ~$40 for tax and shipping) back in mid--September and the tracking number they gave me indicates that the item has still yet to even be shipped. They said that the ETA is 8--12 weeks; I don't know if they factored in the fact that I'm from the US which has a shortage of active truck drivers, but I'm not expecting anything until mid--December lol

Unfortunate name, Janisariat. Ask Vlad the Impaler. Is there any way of measuring the stopping power? (How much energy is imparted to the target.)
@jkre3 жыл бұрын
Arrow speed and weight is used to calculate the kinetic energy and momentum. Over all it doesn't matter what is used to get the arrow to speed, only thing that matters is its speed and weight in terms of the energies that hits the target. Arrows geometry and does it break or not also affects how much it penetrates, but that doesn't have effect on how much energy there is, just on how much of that energy in transfered to the target. Arrow is the most important thing in bows power, bow doesn't matter, it only job is to give speed to the arrow
@0ooTheMAXXoo03 жыл бұрын
Weight of arrow multiplied by speed measured. Heavier arrows will be more efficient but maybe most archers prefer higher arrow speed so it would be a lot of tests to make sense of each bow.
@jkre3 жыл бұрын
Stopping power depends on the arrow head. If the head is just a point it can penetrate very deep, but won't have a lot of stopping power, cus it does minimal tissue damage. Wide broad head on the other hand causes more damage and thus has more stopping power, but has more difficult job of penetrating resisting materials, for example armor.

@@ArminHirmer maybe medicine will make big step forward so you will be fine. I have 60lbs black hunter after usimg samick polaris 40,and it is big difference, nice to see arrow fly far further. But there is problem, there are very few arrows for stronger bows, i cant find any and use chinese musen.

Turkish bows have the reputation of being fastest traditional bows in the world, but yet still no matter how many reviews of them i watch, they always disappoints. 180 fps with 9gpp and 30" draw is self bow speeds. I don't know witch is to blame, the bow design, material or the bowyer? Material should be good enough, i have seen modern recurves with same materials shooting 200+ fps with 10 gpp and "only" 28" draw. Then again i have seen test results with real composite turkish bows shooting 180 fps with 11,3 gpp, and another shooting 185 fps with 10.9 gpp (shot with a shooting machine, so bit more extra speed from that i guess) so it shouldn't really be the design either. But how bout the bowyer? I haven't seen any trust worthy tests done with other makers who's bows would perform significantly better than these alibows, they actually seem to be reasonably good performing bows for what i have seen, they all seem to perform similar or worse than this. Is the design just not suitable for these materials? Modern materials should be capable of better performance than natural materials, over all they shoot greater distance in flight archery. Just doesn't make sense to me. I have also made a longbow (bamboo backed jatoba) that shoots 180 fps but with 10 gpp and 29" draw, and it isn't that well made, i could nowadays make faster i'm sure, if i could get my hands on the same materials again, and now i know what i did wrong in the first one, it has a lot to improve on, and i could get more 5-10 fps more out of similar bow now, i can almost match the performance with a self bow now. And its just a longbow, its even deflex due to too much stress, so it really is far from fastest it could be and turkish design is supposed to be superior, but still perform the same, actually less, cus this alibow was shot with 9 gpp and mine with 10 gpp and same speed.
@jkre3 жыл бұрын
So far the fastest traditional bows i have seen test results from are norwegian military two wood bows. 211 fps with 29" draw and 10 gpp is the fastest that i know of. And the two wood bows belly is made out of compression pine, witch has a unique ability to get longer when there is more moisture, pushing the bow more reflex when in high humidity and thus have more power, witch is the opposite to all the other types of bows, witch gets weaker in high humidity. I wonder tough how fast are Ivar Maldes turkish bows with 10 gpp. They hold the world record of flight archery in the complex composites.
