I live in Texas and somehow this reminds of Texas, particularly west Texas. It's not only the climate and weather, but the culture too. As many of you know, when people think of Texas they also think of cowboys. Like boer culture, many Texans are stereotyped to be rugged, hardworking, and more religious. BBQs and American football, like braaivleis and rugby in South Africa, are very popular here. The music reminds me of Mexican norteña music, which also uses accordions brought by German immigrants to Mexico in the 19th century. Norteña music is popular with many Mexican immigrants and their descendants and is quite common to hear in Texas. The video kind of reminds me of country music as well. Greetings from Texas (or "y'all") as many people say here!

And Afrikaners no longer speak pure Afrikaans but mix in a lot of English words.
