To make Janna more interesting, I think it would be interesting if in the past she had been vain and haughty regarding who she gave good winds too, only to become redundant with the advent of mechanized sailing. Having lost her purpose, Janna would become the target of the Etherfiend, only to be saved at the last minute by the explosion that sunk Zaun and the elders of Zaun calling for her in their moment of need for clean air from the newly emerged toxins. Janna obliges, reinventing herself as a benevolent wind spirit, and while she is happy to ease the suffering of Zaunites, she hesitates to actually stem the sources of their suffering as she fears again becoming obsolete and again becoming the target of the Etherfiend.

Oh that would be really cool. The only thing I hate the most about the LoR version of Janna is that she is so cocky and haughty with her voice lines. Old Janna (Yes, she was a stripper elf) was very solemn and had an air of sadness to her that is unique only to Janna, I thought that was a very cool personality trait.

I really like the concept of a god/spirit disappearing and weakening if forgotten by its followers. Like Ornn, Volibear, Anivia, Janna (I don't know if nagacaborus fits into this too) They come much closer to actually having a religion in their name and be fantastic and legendary creatures. I miss this about the targon aspects, they are gods who don't necessarily need their followers, but I think belief is a unique trait of elemental gods.

@@kzaanimefan4836 Yes, it's because I think this connection between a deity and its followers is really cool, it creates a religious and family bond, which only believers of that deity have and it's something that I find very vague and unilateral in targon. Like, if all the lunari disappeared, literally nothing would happen to the moon, the same with the solari, etc.

Like, yeah, nothing would happen to the actual celestial bodies, but there's no reason to believe that the Aspects themselves wouldn't suffer as a result of people not worshiping them (I mean, Janna's death wouldn't mean that all wind/air on Runeterra disappears, for example.) The Aspects, in-so-far as I understand the lore, are really just spirits tied to celestial bodies rather than earthly forces. It checks out, honestly. I mean, how many myths and legends about the sun, moon and constellations exist in the real world? It would hardly surprise me if Targon's deities came about in the same way as the others. Hell, it might even explain why the Solari hate the Lunari so much; if the Golden Sister wants to outshine the Silver Sister, what better way to do so than wipe out her cult?

I'm a support main and most of what I'd played are enchanters so to answer your question on why anyone would want to play them: getting kills doesn't excite me. I get no dopamine from going "into the action", whereas I get genuinely happy when I see my help raise teammates up from doing bad or mediocre to winning trades or fights!

Hey, it’s my main!! I don’t know what makes me so compelled to Janna, but she’s always been one of my favorites to play. Sometimes I don’t get to play her that much because a new patch may render her useless… Regardless, sometimes people have different preferred playstyles. I mostly main enchanters and mages, and I love playing a supporting role, disrupting fights and giving buffs to my team while the enemy team mostly ignores me. Sometimes it’s quite the opposite and it’s hilarious to get the entire enemy team to fight me and ignore my teammates lol

I love Janna players❤ especially when they flash, ult and push the enemy botlaners under our turret 😂 or when we are being chased and she sets up backwards tornado. She has so much utility for her adc. I never complain when my support picks her up.

In her old lore she was an orphan irl with an afinity to wind magic eventualy making her reverd by the people zaun. Her outfit use to make more sense then when sha was just a mortal with an actual public image. It's still very skimpy but it made sense for me

I had to play Janna once in ARAM. As an engage support main, I really didn't like most enchanter supports. In that game I got really bored in the first 5 minutes being a shield and disengage tool. So then I decided to play Janna as an engage mage a la Morgana. I would walk forward alone aggressively, (a lot of people actually step back if you're confident) drop and fire Tornado into 2 or 3 enemies and my team would follow up. I stopped flashing defensively and just started flash ulting the backline: knocking them into my team, stunning them into walls, or just displacing and then Tornado them. It made me realize that just because Janna is a squishy enchanter doesn't mean you're not allowed to play hyper aggressive engage.

Wild rift aficionado here: I used to main Janna (mastery 7, I’m one of those) before she got a mini rework. She was significantly dumbed down and you can’t recast q anymore, but you have two charges of it. I personally don’t think it’s a good rework on her, she is fully a disengage support now. Which makes me saaad. FUN FACT NO ONE ASKED FOR: In WR Lux Q does NOT get blocked by minions 🙃 YEAH.

Janna is the only enchanter I play because she's basically an AP mage that deals low damage and roams around, basically JG 2.0 just play her aggressive, focus on leveling W, build Mejai's, Lichbane, mandate, and have fun 1v1ing ADCs

While I really love her concept art, I feel going full on bird mode would confuse people, because it would make her a bit too harpie-esque. Doing so would likely make people not familiar with her lore think she was associated with the Vastaya.

Dunno if it's just me, but the other concepts of Janna's Full Spirit Form are better in my opinion. Not only grant them her more distinction from Kayle, but they also play along with the inhuman theme and the "Blue Bird". Regarding her LOR design, I really love it, but just as Nickyboy mentioned, it really lacks visual connection to Zaun. F.e. how about Janna with some good' ol Zaunite goggles? Gives her some adventerous look while tying her more to the region of Zaun. Also R.I.P. Riot Forge, Lore and LOR. I knew they didnt make much money, but I hoped they could sustain the game purely by the other games to support future Riot Forge Games and expansions. Turns out it was all just too unsuccessful. Have stopped playing League after 3 Seasons (Last Season was S7) and the lore was always what kept me in lol.

Actually any champion wearing stuff not related to the region they are.. is not really a problem.. its like seraphine complaint again.. but seraphine is understandable. even if you live in slums. doesn't mean you have to wear what everyone is wearing.. with janna.. a little trinket from a zaunite child is ok,its good.. but her wearing zaunite clothing is like asking jesus wear an office attire. She is a goddess that tried to blessed zaun with her power but doesn't mean she lives in zaun and in need to wear their clothing. Unless make one of her skin as a zaunite janna where she tried to interact with mortals. So her full shuriman attire is not a problem even with her zaun. A rich piltover guy with a business could live in bilgewater not wearing a rugged pirate clothing and keep his piltover looks. Like sona in demacia.

As someone who enjoys playing an Enchanter (Soraka) it's because of how much you have to manage in there. With Soraka you have to think if you need to heal the squishies or the tank as well as using your Q or E offensively or defensively (mostly E). I mostly tend to be a bit more aggresive, but that's because I follow the tank when I'm done babysitting the ADC and I became it's healbot while being in the frontline (think of it as the Medic of TF2). But yeah, that's one enchanter that I really enjoy playing, Karma is in process of debate of me wanting to play a lot of her and Nami was someone I enjoyed playing but I've fallen out. It's not a playstyle for everyone, but I sometimes enjoy being a healbot (specially for a tank)

I have a 2 part theory: 1. Janna will be in Arcane S2. 2. She will be the "Arcane inspired ASU" they teased at the beginning of the season. If I am right about her being in the show, it would make the most sense for an ASU and is one of the most popular enchanters in the game. The other option is maybe Blitzcrank or Singed, but I will cope its Janna since she needs it the most of the 3.

LoR Janna actually does have Zaun in her design. Her outfit is done in Brass and Green, rather than the usual golds, browns, and royal hues of Shuriman outfits. She is a blend of both.

See I don’t dislike many enchanters. I actually quite like playing Nami, Sona, Soraka and even Lulu sometimes (I definitely prefer other champs tho, sometimes I just want to play these) but something about Janna just makes me hate playing her. She’s in my opinion one of, if not the most boring champ to play in the game. Not only that but she’s so boring to play into as well. I genuinely hate her so much but not in the way I hate champs like Yone or Shaco. I just hate her cos I find her so boring and lame to play both as and against :/

Yeaaaaah, Janna's current visuals are so god awful lol. I use Guardian of the Sands Janna since it at least feels more lore accurate with the color scheme, clothing, and even the sandy particles at least visually connect her to Shurima better than being a white bread skinny elf in a bikini. With the current items, you can actually do a pseudo mage build on Janna and rushing Boots of Swiftness lets you beat up ppl with her autos in lane. Though it's easy to think she's boring if you want to rush in, since her "playmaking" is more around setting traps with Q and baiting to counter engage rather than just disengage.

I love Janna she's been one of my favourite champions for years and I love her being a goddess but oh my God is she in dire need of an update. When lor dropped her redesign I was over the moon, her visuals finally making her look like a goddess and her new voicelines made her feel powerful. I especially loved the volibear vs hanna interactions because it gave this great vibe of two storm gods who know each other and have opposite motives. I can only beg her lor design (and coven skin) comes to league. I also hope she gets a bit of a smoother gameplay update down the line that let's her be more expressive. I'd like to see her really push into the control mage / enchanter hybrid archetype more. It'd be cool to see W replaced from a point and click slow to like a storm cloud that strikes lightning 1-5 times based on how many points are in it and just let her feel like she's manipulating the weather on the rift.

You can absolutely tell that Nick doesn't play support at all. First off, Rakan is an engage champ, not an enchanter. Specifically, he's a diver. None of his mains would feel an ounce of loss if Rakan's E (the two dashes to allies) lost the shield effect. It's used as a repositioning tool first, not as a way to shield allies. And Q, that heal is such a non-ability that only gets leveled for trading in lane. But Nick asked how anyone could possibly play enchanters since they aren't aggressive, well that's because enchanters ARE aggressive. Why enchanters are aggressive? Well Nick isn't very good at league, so he wouldn't know what makes a champion strong. Enchanters are very, very forgiving to play. The tradeoff is that they have less agency than other support champions (except vanguards, because vanguards are weak as shit). But when your champion is never in danger, that means you can get away with dangerous things. No one can ever punish you if your champion can ignore the consequences of their actions. So that's why enchanter supports are actually aggressive. They can roam, they can gank, they can invade, they can do pretty much whatever they want to be as annoying as possible, because their kits will protect them as long as the player isn't trying to die. That level of defense actually DOES give enchanters agency, but only if they play VERY aggressive on the map.
