Last year once of the prongs broke off my ring leaving me with 3 prongs instead of 4. My original jeweler we no longer at the location and I didn't want anyone else to fix my ring. Found someone else months later that I felt comfortable with enough to repair the prong. The jeweler removed the remaining 3 prongs and repaired it with 4 thicker prongs. ...i was slightly dissapointed because I feel as though the prongs are much more noticeable. My husband says it doesn't look bad. But I can see the difference in the setting. Also, the diamond doesn't bling as much as it did prior to getting re-pronged. ...maybe it's my imagination, but I feel like I want to get my ring re-pronged again. What do you recommend? Please help me settle my nerves here in NYC.

What do you mean "different setting? If it really bothers you, then re prong it, it's a ring with a lot of meaning but it is in the end, also just a ring compared to everything else like your loved ones, etc.

I used to take my jewellery to a recognized jewellery store I like (Peoples Jewellers - Canada) and send my pieces to their manufacturing lab. I know they work beyond flawless and they can do anything you want if explain or have a picture they can work after. I see you are in NYC - there must be some reputable jewellery stores you can trust. I avoid small stores and private practice. Go by the size, the name and fame of the business.

Not really, men and women are now having more physically demanding jobs so for many, a full bezel ring is a good option.

Depends on the skin tone of your partner and the color of the diamond you want to choose. Yellow gold looks better against darker skin tone and white gold looks better against a whiter skin tone. A yellow gold ring can be used to mask the slight yellow tint of lower color grade diamonds (I, J, K) which are cheaper than colorless diamonds (D, E, F, G).
