What a fine versatile machine! Badged machines are intriguing since you can get a "name brand" under a different name. Nice find! Amazing that it will do flawless patterns even at high speeds and on a slippery fabric too. Definitely a keeper. On a different note, you've inspired me to start a collection of different zigzaggers for my vintage straight stitchers and I'm having a lot of fun with those. Once again, thanks for sharing your adventures, I always enjoy your videos.

I believe it depends on the model. My 158.1914 works in the same way (+/- on the Janome S/L on the Kenmore).

I think that you mean the pattern cams. In order to get a different pattern, you will pull out the cam in the top and put in a different one.

Hello. The buttonhole changes the presser for the buttonhole. Set the swing width adjustment lever to 3 to 5 according to the button. Change the buttonhole dial from "S" to "1" and sew the left side. Change to "2" and sew the lower side. Change to "3" and sew on the right side, change to "2" and sew on the upper side. Sorry for Google Translate.

Any recommendations on treadling? Do you have a singer treadle? What might be the best set up for this machine? Yours seems to treadle very easily. . .

As long as the treadle is well oiled, most of the them spin very freely. The biggest issue with treadling is when the balance wheel on the sewing machine is light -- this makes treadling difficult. For example, the 672 has a light aluminium wheel so will be difficult (but not impossible to treadle). I upgrade my machines for treadling to a heavier wheel which is easy.

It is a combination of the stitch length from the front, and the +/- on the back near the thread stands. Play around with the settings until you arrive at the correct stitch settings.

Drop your feed dogs and select either zigzag or straight stitch. You will want a hoop for the fabric and possibly a hopping or spring foot but if the fabric is hooped well, you may not need the additional foot.
