You have given me the courage to finally attachment the embroidery unit after 4 years. I have a friend who just lost her husband who needs an embroidery project for Christmas projects for next year. Onward!!

Thank you for the two videos - I needed something beyond the manual and these videos cover the basics very well!

Hi, I am considering this machine. You did an excellent job on the video. Nice close ups and you speak well, easy listening. Thank you.

You are too kind. I know I’m an amateur in the KZbin world. I’m trying to improve my video skills. I’m still happy with the machine.

Great video. You speak well. I would recommend bobbin thread. Its thinner then regular thread and very strong.

What "pen" are you using for your touch screen? I. MUST. HAVE. ONE!

It’s called a stylus and it should have come with your machine. It tucks in a spot you should see when you lift the top lid.

Question Is there a way to embroider a monogram with three letters on top of each other, or stacked?
@frecklefacedfabrichead9959 Жыл бұрын
First, I would try it on a test fabric. If I was not opting for the monogram function on the machine it would take creating saved designs for each of the letters and then add them to them each to the new hoop design. I don’t have enough information to advise more than that.

Hi I just got my machine today which replaced a MC 8000 that is slowly dying. I had that one since 1993 I think. For my original machine, l purchased a cloth setter, does this machine need one? Thanks for posting this because I haven’t embroidered in a long time so can’t wait to start again. Thanks Tracey
@frecklefacedfabrichead99593 жыл бұрын
Congratulations! It’s so exciting. There is a cloth setter for the machine but I have never used one. Maybe I should be using it. It bet it would be a game changer if I actually bought one.

I have done everything right but constantly get puckering. What can I do to rectify this please
@frecklefacedfabrichead99592 жыл бұрын
I get puckers when I don’t have the fabric in the hoop tight enough or if my needle isn’t the right size for the fabric.

You may be using the wrong stablizer.

I have seen a built in design done with this machine and a purchased one. Both were one colour only and the jump threads were not cut. What is your experience with this? Are you having to cut threads all the time?
@frecklefacedfabrichead99592 жыл бұрын
There is a setting on the machine. Look for my video called “no more jump threads”.
@susanwalshmercer74622 жыл бұрын
It very odd that this machine would be set to have jump stitches. That makes no sense at all. The old machines didn't cut jump stitches but the 350 the 9900 the skyline 9 and many more cut the jump stitches. Interesting to be sure!
@susanwalshmercer74622 жыл бұрын
That should be the default setting from the factory.

Was there a particular reason you chose the 9850? I see much more instruction info. for the 9900 and the 9450. I chose it because it's a sewing/embroidery and has the 9m expansion size for some of the decorative stitches. Certainly still learning my new Janome 9850. Have you had problems with the needle threader - It doesn't seem to be as easy to use as my Baby Lock.

My Huskvarna Viking #1 plus from 1998 died and I needed a replacement. I was impressed with the breadth of functionality available for the price. But I haven't shopped machines for 20 years and didn't realize how much less expensive they have become. I paid over $4000 for less functionality than I got with the 9850. From what I understand many of the how-to's and accessories for the 9900 also translate to the 9850. My threader is OK. It rarely works on the first try. If my eyes weren''t so bad I would just use my fingers :p.

Hi I am trying to decide to buy the 9850 or the 6650. Can I embroider a name on the chest, for example, on a uniform shirt without taking the shirt apart? Also, how does this do for regular sewing and quilt making?
@frecklefacedfabrichead99594 жыл бұрын
Hi Judy. I have never driven the 6650 to be able to offer my opinion. The 9850 seems to serve me because of the variety of sewing interests. I do window treatments, garments, quilts and bags on it and it sews like a champ. Not a heavy duty as a Juki and the throat is not a big as a quilt model. When making clutch wallets, I sew thru some very thick parts just fine as long as I go slow.
