You know what I want? A strategy game with this type of graphics. You would manage entire groups rather than microing, as engagements would last longer and disengaging would be simulated. Groups would be given a selection of weapons and armor, possibly individual units too, which would change how the group functions. Like a combat engineer group armed with flamethrowers acting differently than one with breaching charges. Or infantry with grenadiers and carapace armor would be tougher and more deadly than a bunch of press-ganged militia who saw a Lasgun for the first time a couple of days ago.

The closest thing we have to this is Warhammer 40K Armageddon, but it is a more of a tactical game than a strategic one - sure, you can make good or poor desicions on your own, but you ain't tunrin' the tide singlehandedly, while in HOI4 you can prevent any large catastrophes like the fall of *Country name* with relative ease.

Braaaaa like 14 years of fighting and yet the defenders have soooo many people in such a small place is so frustrating. I sit in anticipation to know if a 100 astarties will be enough to make a change in the tide. Janovich, well done. You are an excellent story teller and do an amazing job with engaging presentation of battles that would normally be left to the imagination.

Crazy that someone could be bothered so much as to invent and write such a monumental single happening, a humongous siege, happening sometime somewhere in a FICTIONAL UNIVERSE. It is likewise crazy how excellent of a job you two fellows are making. The animation style and script writing are absolutely gripping, while the narrator manages to convey pathos and frigging bloody massacre action while still retaining a calm and measured voice. Mind-effing-blowing what talent, skill and dedication can do.

Before Napoleonic times we had the Forlorn Hope, a volunteer group from any units who would enter a breach first. The defenders would have dug in an explosive surprise to kill that first wave. Then survivors and following troops would be met by point blank cannons and troops firing. Hence why survivors were instantly promoted and had extra rations and rum issued. Think the author did well to remember the trick of countering the breach.

WRANING MENTAL HEALH AND POTENTIAL TEIGGERS TO DO WITH DEPPEESSION AND SLEF TERMINATION DISCUSED AT THE END…. I Just wanted to express my gratitude for all the hard work you and your team have put in with the Shovel, and HH war. I include the editing and artwork. I am extremely thankful for the Christmas gift you have given to the Warhammer 40,000 community. Your channel is definitely on my top list of favourites, and I appreciate how you have taught me about the Imperium and Warhammer lore. It has become a new passion in my life (the other being The Lord of the Rings, and to be honest I never thought anything could make me as engaged and happy. If you, the reader of this love TLOTR, and soaked up all the lore to the point that Legolas and Gmmly probably went to Vallinor you might know how I feel) and has truly enriched my life to the point of saving it. I was not in good place a year ago. But I got the treatment from a friend I suggest below. The Biggest killer on men 30 to 50 is suicide. I would like to thank @Baldermort, @The Remebrancer, @The Amber King,@Lutin09 and others on your team for all the effort you have put in. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and keep up the amazing work! I can only speak as myself a man who is 40. Remember talk about the dark stuff with your friends. Men don't talk about how they feel until they think it's probably better of they left this world. Don't get to that point. Have a 10 minute chat with your fellow Brothers and cut the small talk. You will probably save a soul or yourself. You are not worthless and alone you are amazing and the world needs you. You are not weak, you are human. I worked ina hospice and have had the training to talk freely about Suicide and Death with many people. I have done so and it is what it is. I hope some of you cut the banter with you’re friends and check each other out. Love to you all. 💯❤️

Kreig Engineers, like their regular soldiers, were well equipped for their job. They were each equipped with a Lucius-pattern semi-automatic shotgun with 8-round drum magazines, weapons that were utterly lethal in the close confines of the tunnels they worked in. Their gas masks were of the same design as their grenadier comrades, and each mask also included a monocular night vision lens, to allow them to see in almost zero light conditions. Each squad was well equipped with shovels, picks, hammers, demolition charges, frag grenades, chemical grenades, electronic listening devices, mole mortar launchers and had access to vehicles such as the Hades breaching drill. But generally, due to how well sound travelled in the hard rock of Vraks, Engineers tended to use hand tunnelling techniquies, as heavy equipment could literally broadcast their intentions to the enemy. After the initial breach of the curtain wall, the Engineers didn't have much more success in their work - they did manage to breach the Citadel's catacombs around the same time the main complex was stormed, but by that point, the heretics had begun to summon...other...allies...

Surely such weapons would have being preferable if deployed sparingly rather than grinding each wall and hold out to dust. Especially if the ultermate goal of the imperium was to recapture the vaste stock piles under vrake befor they could be depleted

I heard this from a friend who heard it I think from Majorkill. But the Idea is that GW doesmt know how to properly scale a fight or war of these sizes. He says "whenever you see a number of enemies or combatants, add an extra zero- there arent 8 million orks, theres 80 million orcs, there arent 3 million tyranids, there' 30 million" so on and so forth. But its only for large engagements, not the "sole survivor" counts.
