What I don't understand is why they couldn't eventually bring the ships into bombardment range. At a certain point the Krieg assault core had complete control of the anti-air defenses across all of vraks which should have been able to stop the chaos factions from landing

I am absolutely a fan of how the titans are noted with their own animated models. Really shows how much more power they represent compared to the standardized rectangle notations of mechanized and infantry companies.

Having read through the series and watched Arch's videos, I already knew what was going to happen. But that cliffhanger with the Titans slowly lumbering towards the Death Korps lines, and the suicidal charge to TRY and slow them down was perfect! Excellent job, Janovich!

Lord Commander Zuehlke was indeed a perfect man for a job. He had ensured a steady supply of ammunition and men and left Deathcore to do what they do best. When Deathcore of Krieg had failed, he had raise up to the challenge and exercised his leadership to achieve what even most venerated army in the Imperium could not. Truly a great commander on Imperium's side!

@@lorenzocassaro3054 To be honest, as fanatical as the deathkorps are, a lot of fans (and authors to be fair) don't seem to understand just how soul crushing a war of this magnitude would be. This shit makes WW1 look like a joke, where even highly defended and strategically vital fortresses that dwarf the greatest constructed on earth are so utterly unnotable as to be given names like A-453. At the end of the day, kriegers are still humans, and prolonged trench warfare seen on the impossible to comprehend scale of a full planetary siege would wear down on anyone psychologically. Engagements of just a few hours are beyond exhausting as well, and while the big push was arguably necessary to finally breach the second line within any timeframe that wasn't literal centuries long, a full week of being under near-constant fire would break anything short of a super-human astartes- if that. So while I do think Zuehlke wasn't the absolute worst commander for the job, he still severely overestimated the capabilities of his forces and rode them to the brink of a full-scale revolt to try and hold to an impossible timeframe.

I always feel a little sorry for Zuehlke, he might not have been a great commander, but he only had baseline humans forces and he had to try and fight the Alpha legion plus the rebel forces. Even the human forces were limited compared to those his replacements could use and the intel used to give him the timetable was useless. Also how was it his fault the imperial forces let the Traitor forces get to the system, or that the Navy messed up the engagement 😂.

my biggest question is why they didnt just immediately orbital strike the citadel immediately, they said the lasgun anti air were the biggest reason they couldnt do that in first place and its scattered all over place, but now the vraksian literally only hold small area in the middle, im pretty sure even the void shield in citadel couldnt really last long againts constant barrage of artillery from kriegsmen too.

If I remember correctly, the citadel shield held for _Weeks/Months_ before it started flickering, which would be plenty of time to seriously threaten a ship in low bombardment-orbit.

@@adiutrixpiafidelis The lack of bombardment of the outer-works or hab-zones made no sense to me. The lack of bombardment of the citadel was silly in my mind, but was stated at the very beginning, the citadel contains a holy site of the Echlessiarchy, who refuse to allow bombardment to destroy it. The fact that traitors would invariably ruin it themselves if left in their hands for too long anyways seems to have been ignored. Basically, politics stopped the bombardment of the citadel, but the sheer number of anti-ship laser sites around the citadel seem to have kept the outer-works reasonably guarded from space as well.

Amazing work, I've watched every episode. Feels like watching the History Channel back in the golden days when it had education, rather than reality TV. A small bit of constructive criticism, take it or leave it. I wish you wouldn't put in the word bubbles "Diggy digging hole" and "Kowabunga it is." I'm on the edge of my seat listening to you and watching the strategic animations move in place, I feel the tension building. Then the cartoon like saying in the world bubbles appear and it momentarily breaks the seriousness and captivation you just had me in the palm of your hand. Just trying to be constructive. Will for sure watch any new content you produce. I love it.
