Your tutorial is excellent, but you have to admit, that's very difficult when talking and trying to paint at the same time,,, you lose some of the momentum, so it takes a lot longer to get the calligraphy correctly, but you're doing a fantastic tutorial, thank you, I have learned a lots of tips,,,you're one of my favorite on you tube ,,,,, awesome, a lots of professionalism,,, looking forward to see you and your daughter do a tutorial together,,,Zoe God bless

The small details are vital, and it takes longer to complete the portrait, excellent tutorial, the perspective is very important, I'm also a self taught artist, and we are the best, we are always learning and enjoying every moment of it, with our hearts and soul ❤

I learned SO much from these two videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge of the process. I esp enjoy how flexible you are with regard to the process and how open you seem to be about how others may differ. I am new to painting. I’ve been painting pet portraits for a few years, but have no formal training. For instance- I still don’t know what ‘extender’ is- but I’m going to do some research and find some asap! I never thought to use my fingers to blur lines. And I never thought to stage the background into the subject - but how wonderful that looks! Thank you. I will def follow and hope you keep showing us how to paint pets!

I think it will help me a lot with the painting that I will be working on. I might try this technique. My friend wants me to paint his german shepherd. I was thinking the same things at the same time as you, so I guess that's a good sign. I don't like to tone the background before painting. What I like to do is paint the background as much as I can and then paint the thing I want on it. Great videos, I really enjoyed watching you painting this dog.

When I started drawing in university, my brother was a lecturer, so he had the fineliner and the see through plastic, which they used with the projector 📽 👨🏫 I read a book about the masters using a candle to project the drawing and I thought hmm 🤔 I should borrow my brothers tools to copy my photograph and project onto a canvas. And that’s how I painted a massive landscape, with very little drawing experience. It was fun, but I think I stunted my growth.. because I became overconfident for a beginner Anyway long story short, I love the projector pen and plastic technique. But nothing beats drawing from scratch for long term artistic growth
@JansenArtEducation4 жыл бұрын
Yep, drawing is very important, but you can learn while painting. That is how I did it. I learned how to paint flowers long before I learned how to draw them. Same with portraits, landscape...LOL. I find if you can paint a nice one that gives you more confidence with the drawing.

What medium do you use with the Acrylics to keep them open and workable for so long. I mix colors & they dry up & even using water it's so dry it just turns into a watery color
