Thanks so much for splitting this off. I’m a fan of all your work, but my basic interest is the brushwork in your flowers. I can always go back to the western scenes and that sort of thing, but I find the techniques you teach for still life and flower work are simply (keyword) awesome! So thank you, David, I disappeared and now I’m back.

I just found your channel. I was accepted in art school but decided to get a business degree instead. 25 years later, I'm following my heart and learning to paint by watching tutorials. Your instructions are simple and wonderfully positive! I just subscribed. Thank you so much, and I look forward to further tutorials 😊

Hi David! Expanding to help beginning painters is a wonderful idea! Painting is marvelous for so many reasons. For me -- when I’m painting along with a rose lesson -- I lose track of all the cares of the day because I’m concentrating on my brush, the exquisite colors you teach us to mix - and of course - all those pretty, pretty roses! It’s a relaxed feeling to paint -- and just plain exhilarating to see a creation - no matter how simple! I subscribed to your Paint it Simply Channel a couple of years ago - and I’ll be visiting there lots more from now on. Best regards to all -- JV

Natural born teacher. I’m a right brain thinker. I am an artist but my medium is writing but I’ve always wanted to paint. On line tutorials are all I have. It takes a lot of pursuing to find the gems. Your a very impressive gem and I thank you. I’m fascinated by your using your science background to include art and will in future allow myself to investigate your paints when I’m able to afford a little more disposable income. Till then… thank you and God bless!! 😎♥️💫

I am a long time student of yours but have painted very little (almost none) for the past year. I am going to the beginning to refill my "tool box" with techniques. Restudying "Color Theory" and now have added this channel. Big change is that I now have a floor easel instead of flat and using the long handle brushes. You may also see me trying the more complicated. Important thing is to paint instead of just washing/listening. Thank you for continuing to teach. You are great!.

I have been taking painting (oil) lessons for 2 years, with the express purpose of being able to paint freehand roses. And mine are going to be beautiful, too!!

This is fantastic, I too am left brain and really appreciate your breaking things down like this. You’re also very inspiring and confidence building, which I love. This half tone method really speaks to me as I think that always blending can mean that there’s no dimension or character to the rose or bloom. My ambition is to create ‘blousy’ romantic impressionistic florals in acrylic just for the joy of it. Thank you so much for the time you put into these videos. ❤
