Wow, so many Hall of Famers on court at once, it's like an All-Star game! Pippen, Jordan, Parish, Rodman (and Kerr who will probably get in there as a coach) vs Drexler, Barkley, Olajuwon. Even though these guys were all near the end of their careers in 1997 it's still an amazing and historical game.

@@demoskratos8570 Good point. I wasn't really a KuKoc fan but as an international player and Olympian I can see why the hall admitted him. And I can't deny he did hit some big clutch shots for the our Bulls more than once.

I believe both teams came into this game with records of 21-2. So wanted this match up in the Finals.

I am not convinced the Rockets would have been a match for the Bulls in the second three-peat years - those Bulls went 5-1 against Houston with several blowout wins while the first three-peat Bulls went 1-5 against them. Yes Hakeem would have been a matchup issue but they handled him well enough to beat them 5 out of 6 from 96-98.

The second 3-peat, the rockets did struggled against the bulls. Bulls were better.

That was the much anticipated Final that year that most wanted to see. The Bulls dominated the 90s with the first 3 and then the Rockets won the next 2. Somehow the Rockets wanted to prove that their 2 title wins have nothing to do with MJ’s first retirement and they are a strong side. But however, the Jazz with Karl Malone and John Stockton ruined everything. As a Bulls fan, when the Jazz got to the final, I always felt that we can beat them. As for the Rockets, I felt that we were somehow evenly matched.

I loved this Rockets team but they're still outmatched by the Bulls. The Bulls didn't have an answer for Olajuwon but Drexler is neutralized by Jordan and Pippen and the Rockets didn't have much of an answer for any of the Bulls talents. Rodman might not have been able to slow down Barkley or Olajuwon but neither of them slow down Rodman on the offensive glass either. And the Bulls had a better bench and were better coached. I would much rather have seen the Rockets in the finals than the Jazz, though.

@Dustin Wilson If we were facing your 1993-94 team, this is gonna be one hell of a series. I won’t expect a 100-point game as both defenses were the best at their prime and will most likely to cancel each out. That Rockets team have the talent to match the 96-98 Bulls Ron Harper vs Kenny Smith - Smith is a much better shooter but Harper is a better all-rounder Michael Jordan vs Vernon Maxwell - Besides being a clutch shooter, Mad Max did have some success in getting into MJ’s head but his antics will only motivate MJ to drop 30 plus points on Max. Luc Longley vs Hakeem Olajuwon - Olajuwon is gonna pulverise and give Longley the shake all day long. That is the Rockets biggest edge. Scottie Pippen vs Robert Horry - great battle at SF. The most versatile player in the game against one of the greatest clutch performer. Dennis Rodman vs Otis Thorpe - another great battle in PF. Thorpe may find Rodman a real handful under the boards The Bench Toni Kukoc, Steve Kerr, Bill Wellington, Jud Bucheler vs Sam Cassell, Mario Ellie, Carl Herrera, Matt Bullard, Scott Brooks
@Tanfo773 жыл бұрын
@@evervictorious007 Horry can't do shit to Pippen. Plus Horry needs to be in a the right place at the right time as this guy can't create space or make plays, he basically just waits for the ball to shoot. Bulls would win on that series as MJ was a monster on defense and offense.

A lot of people talk about Hakeem Olajuwon that Michael Jordan would have never beat him when he retired of course he would have done it because they have the same age and at the same time with Barkley and Drexler he was not even able to beat Jordan case closed
