Rodney Rogers Brent Barry Poor Richardson Lamond Murray Loy Vaught Stanley Roberts Malik Sealy Lorenzen Wright Eric Piatkowski Darrick Martin Bo Outlaw Pretty darn good team. I'd say 2 pieces away from being a great playoff team. Needed a better SG and a better backup C to Stanley Roberts. Also I believe they made a furious push in the season when Barry was moved from the backup PG to the starting PG.

@@meg-k-waldren Clippers had mostly the same roster the following season (aside from losing Roberts and Outlaw) and fell all the way to 17-65, those guys couldn't have really made that much of a difference.
@meg-k-waldrenКүн бұрын
@@coreyrowe4119Yeah but youre positioning that in a vacuum. Other teams got better too the following year. And there are other factors in basketball than just a record or stat on a piece of paper. Things such as chemistry or a strain in it. And lastly Stanley Roberts did make a huge difference for a team like the Clippers. He was a fundamentally sound center with a solid offensive game down low. He was also the guy to guard the Ewings, the Shaqs, the Smits etc. when they came to town. And Bo Outlaw was strong defensive PF. If he had an offensive game he'd be Horace Grant basically. Gotta actually know the players and read their games more than just eye a stat on a piece of paper.

Easy work for the Bulls. Knicks would have been a much tougher series I think
Crazy just watching this how many slips and cuts there are but all aimed at getting layups / easy shot towards the rim. Watching games these days its all aimed to get open on the perimeter for shooters.

So a year later this Spurs team won the NBA Finals because the 2 jerry's decided everyone but MJ is "over the hill" and end their own dynasty! Does anyone who reads this believe that this same Bull's team could not have come back & at least defended their Title? I know the Pacers were coming & I'm not saying beating the Spurs would not have been a real task given how good Robinson & Duncan had become & how lacking the Bulls were at center! What I am saying is that this Bulls team had enough left to win the Eastern Conference in 99' & Michael Jordan playing in the NBA Finals is the deciding factor!

16:38 skip was a wrinkle MJ added to his game in 98 season. And he had all kinds of variations of it that year too. I remember watching the 1998 season and MJ saying he was reaching a Jedi-like level where he was searching for a game on different plane not visible to the eye of any player in history. It wouldve been glorious to see what 1999 MJ couldve looked like if the lockout never happened.

Duncan did not like MJ, Maybe cuz he thinks he is better than MJ.But Jordan did not had that much help , like Robinson and Leonard. MJ is the Greatest, period !

I wasnt aware of this until now. Just went and looked up the 1998 Dan Patrick interview with rookie Duncan. That was immaturity on Duncan's part. Other guys came into the league like that too - Bryon Russell in 1994; Greg Anthony in 1992; Bobby Sura in 1996. They thought the NBA will be easy but then found out its nightmare where every team is after you. Duncan found out fast when he just couldnt beat Shaq/ Kobe Lakers for years. I remember Duncan always looking down in those years. Duncan couldn't win beyond that 99 shortened year unless he had a stacked team that won together by committee. Especially that one year they had Stephen Jackson, Claxton, Parker, Steve Smith, Ginobli, M. Rose, Robinson, Goldwire. Tbh I feel peak for peak Robinson and Karl Malone are better than Duncan. But thats just me. David Robinson especially is very underrated just cause Olajuwon destroyed him in 1994. But thats to Olajuwon's credit not Robinson's discredit.
