I love commercials from this era. Very relaxed, to the point, a little humor when needed, and not annoying as hell. Today's commercials are nothing like this. 😒

The sheriff in the Dodge Swinger ad is Joe Higgins. His series of ads for Dodge inspired the country novelty hit "The Sheriff of Boone County," recorded by Kenny Price. Years later they would be together as cast members on Hee Haw.

This was Super Bowl V, nicknamed the "Blunder Bowl" for being so sloppy. MVP was newly-inducted Hall of Famer Chuck Howley, the only Super Bowl MVP ever from a losing team.

Fast forward to today, lots of electric vehicle products are highlighted. No Chrysler ads for awhile sadly as the company is just a sad shadow of its former glory, as it struggles to strive in the electric race. Electronic music (with lots of 1980s/'90s song samples as well as some newer ones) are prominent.

Chrysler was a major sponsor of NBC Sports (especially NFL/AFL and MLB). Ford had the NFL on CBS, and Chevy had NCAA Football on ABC. No longer do there seem to be exclusive automotive sponsorships. Most of today's ads for Stellantis (Chrysler Corp.'s successor) are for Jeep and Ram trucks (formerly Dodge trucks plus Fargo trucks in Canada).
