In January 1985 I was 14.5. That was the first year I became self aware. Still seems like a modern year. Now 37 years ago. I'm holding up good at 52 but TV isn't what it was then (particularly before 1985).

Border St East Boston. Shore Plaza 1985. In my mind I’m still there watching TV 38. Jesus I’m getting misty eyed just thinking about it.

@@CatholicTraditional Yes, they had the sports and WLVI TV56 had the best cartoons and sitcoms. Woody Woodpecker Show. Tom & Jerry. Tex Avery. Brady Bunch. Sanford and Son. Good Times. Three's Company. Miss those days.

Now, if I was to take the ownership of CBS News and Stations, here’s how I would improve TV38 (WSBK-TV): - You would see the return of their former station slogan, “Entertaining Boston”. - I predict that the station would create new idents that would center around the daily lives of people around Boston. - Similar to what MeTV did with Toon In With Me, I would bring back the classic cartoons that aired on the station (i.e. Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts, Popeye the Sailor, etc). Also, there’d be a new programming block that would air select shows from Nickelodeon, including preschool programming from Nick Jr. and select live-action programming. - I would bring back their “hosted movie” show, The Movie Loft, with a new host. - The 8:00 PM newscast would be moved back to 10:00 PM. With that, the 9:00 PM newscast is cancelled. - I would bring back some of the classic shows that used to air on the station. - Coverage of Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and New England Revolution games would return to the station.

I grew up in the Albany NY area, but we had WSBK on our cable system my entire life until it became UPN. I loved that station

Movie Greats would have been on at Noon on Sundays on TV 38. Right after the 10:00 am movie (Usually, a Bowery Boys or Abbot and Costello flick).

Anyone remember a thing on channel 38 called the town crier. In the Quincy braintree area late 80s early 90s?

So this is where UHF channel 37 went when the FCC took it away for radio astronomy.
