Your sermon was shared on Facebook by a dear childhood friend back in my hometown of Holt, MI. Thank you so much for these wonderful, compassionate words, that honor both your transgender member and the rest of your flock. With your church's guidance, I feel confident that everyone's "transition" will proceed well.

"How we can love each other more. How we can love each other better." This is just beautiful. Thank you so much.

Thank you for this honest, love-filled message that shows how a community of faith that trusts in God and loves one another faces the unexpected together.

Goodness, only one comment and 19 views? Incredibly unjust. Thank you, Reverend for reminding your parishioners that change is hard, uncomfortable and that those feelings are human. The we don't always live up to our ideals and that doesn't make us bad people. That everyone has their own personal struggle and that your congregant is certainly going through hers and deserves support. This woman is lucky to have you as her spiritual leader. You are a credit to your faith.

Thank you Rev. Robinson for your wisdom, knowledge and understanding. So many Christians forget how much God loves the outcasts of the world. Here is a verse in the bible some of the people in your congregation may need to read to know how much God loves the transgendered person. Acts 8:26-40 God told Peter to baptize the eunuch.. what more proof do they need?

I was raised a moderate Christian. In church, I never heard any proselytizing or fear-mongering. All I heard was how wonderful heaven would be and how privileged we are since Jesus' sacrifice. Now, there were a good number of supernatural things that I considered "out-of-date" thinking, and I was told that I had to believe in that stuff in order to be a Christian. Thats why I left. Because I simply couldn't believe in the supernatural with out sufficient evidence. That's it. (Continued)

Saying that ones religion is primitive isn't saying that the person themselves are primitive. A person can wear an outfit made by abercrombie & fitch and still not be a douchebag. However, just because a non-douchebag person is wearing it, doesn't make the actual outfit any less douchey. Ya get what I mean?

I know that Christianity is more then preaching about Hell. That's why I'm so outspoken. Because I think that people like you, who believe that Christianity is more then the Old Testament's horror stories, that it's about love and acceptance, should yell louder then all these fundies. Because they are the only thing that everyone else is hearing. You and people like you are more then the threats of Hellfire, you are the preferred version. So speak up so we won't forget that you're there!

Glad this particular preacher is accepting. But in general, Christianity is exclusive and intolerant of people who are different. If you truly want freedom and acceptance its time to drop your primitive religion.
