January 2024 Load Order for Skyrim on Xbox - Ft. The Graphics Pack

Hey everyone! Hope you all enjoy. Let me know if you have any questions about anything in my list or if I missed something on the spreadsheet. I wanted to add a lot more but ran out of space. I was debating on removing a Graphics Pack mod but I might have some ghost space. Have a little bit already but not bad after reinstalling the game 😅 Also finally playing through some CC stuff on my older save.

They are a lot of fun to make when there are a lot of new mods on the list. Like a fresh coat of paint. I think when Starfield mods come out on Xbox, I might lean more into gameplay mods but I guess we'll see what's available when that comes.

@@rjperry0 The main graphics pack mod will cover cities. They'll be listed towards the top of the mod description. There are a few extra mods: one for Winterhold, farmhouses, and High Hrothgar. I just ran outta space but the landscape textures should still run through those areas. Skyland AiO still seems to cover more of that. You could try Skyland Landscapes and GP for architecture stuff as you said.

It feels new to me whenever I load up the game with this one. I'd probably say that the Audio mod really rounds it all out. Animations and that Movement and Behaviors mod also add a lot! I'm amazed I got that close to the 5GB limit 🤣

@@zanderdewar3422 nothing out of the ordinary. I got kicked out of the Creations menu a couple of times from searching mods. My main thing was that I made a list and ended up deleting a few things that were bigger mods and then I installed new ones. Then that duplicate mod glitch was showing up. Found out a couple of the mods I wanted to try conflicted or had issues so then the ghost space got me. That’s why I ended up reinstalling to start super fresh.

Just got everything installed, YOU NEED TO INSTALL ALL THE MODS OVER 100 MB FIRST! Then go through all the rest and order everything properly before you start the game. I even added a couple other small mods and it runs great. LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, thanks a lot for the upload!

Just had to delete every safe due to an issue with loading into the game. There was no other solution, but since I’ve got a clean slate, I’ll be using your load order! Thanks for the video, I’ll miss my 13 years of saves though 😭

You can use what you want. This is just what I went with. Cheat mods generally go at the bottom unless the mod description says otherwise.

You can click on one of the GP mods and hover over the mod author’s name. When you click on that then you’ll see em all. I noticed that as well when I made this list. Glad you brought that up! This’ll be a good YT Short.

Try TLS sound overhaul with silent ui & quieter dungeons & silent bards. Realistic dog sounds, Dragonborn grunts revoiced, More painful NPC death sounds & eviscerate weapon sounds reworked. 😅 Also you don't have to redownload Skyrim all over just wipe the data from your hardrive.

I have the old realistic armor overhaul version that got deleted and it’s a lot bigger MB then the SWF version so I was wondering if it includes all the same armors? And with the same quality? I was wondering since I don’t want to delete it because I can’t redownload it.

Should all be the same. Not sure why the SWF version saves so much space but the mod description does mention that if you don't use Just Shields then you should use the regular one but I already had SWF installed so I went with that. and so far so good! Love those armors.

Everytime I try downloading these mods, I get halfway through then I crash over and over until I clear all the mods. Is there any fix? Or is there any faster way to install all of these?

One by one is the only way. You could try backing out little bits at a time to save after you download what you want. The new interface crashes sometimes.

That's interesting. Did you start a new save with Survival mode or install it on an existing save? Not sure what would cause that with the mods in my list.

Do you find that the rebalanced leveled list adds to much loot or still fair just more variety?

It might be too much stuff. There was a lite version but it was the same amount of space and just removed DLC things. It works well early game but after a while, paired with Rich Merchants, you'll have a lot of money and you might just be looking at chests for items rather than selling stuff.

@Matt_the_TechRanger Thanks! I have struggled to find a good balance with most loot mods. Either too much stuff or way overpowered too early. Overpowered but very rare would be alright. I used to use OWL. However, it seems to be kinda a mess now. Different versions and such.

I try not to make videos longer if they don't need to be. If you hit the 'gear' icon in the KZbin player, you can play it back at half speed if needed. That and the spreadsheet in the description will have everything too. Sometimes I need to go back and update it (like the redundant Graphics Pack mod 🤣).

Anyone having trouble with lanterns and some snow in dungeons & caves being purple? Only thing I Changed was I added Ordinator instead of adamant and added the cloaks & capes, alternate start, and the bandolier and pouches mods.

If you use SMIM and ELFX then you need to have the updated version of ELFX or there can be purple lanterns. Purple means missing textures. Not sure about the snow but if you have a conflicting snow mod or something that also modifies snow when you already have something that covers it then that could be it.

@@AdriaanPretorius I've only ever used Arthmoor's Alternate Start - Live Another Life and that just requires USSEP: creations.bethesda.net/en/skyrim/details/5770/Alternate_Start___Live_Another_Life But that should go towards the bottom. For other alternate start mods then you would just want to read the mod description. If there is a required mod then it'll list in the description or on the mod page online. I’ve only used the Cheat Room mod once for that Old Kingdom video so I can’t remember where I placed it in the list. I think it’s best suited for the bottom. If you choose one to use, read the description to see if there are instructions for placement.

The disc will just be Skyrim Special Edition. There should be something in the box to entitle you to the Anniversary Edition with all the DLC. If you want to activate Creation Club stuff then you’d just have to go to the Creations page in-game. I’d probably recommend installing any other mods you want first prior to downloading any CC stuff, if you want other mods.

I haven't used Vokrii. I think you might need a patch to work with Mysticism but you'd want to read the mod description. Mysticism is just something I like for the variety in magic.

It could be the Definitive Beauty Pack since that version is not being updated but it shouldn’t conflict with anything. You can try disabling, starting a new game and see if that worked. I would probably recommend unplugging the console for a few and plugging it back in to clear the cache. If you recently moved stuff, some mods might rearrange themselves on you so I would check that too. Side effect of the Creations update.

The Audio SFX overhaul in this list actually has a footsteps setting. If you use mods like LUX or Sounds of Skyrim then there is a patch for it to use it.

@@jeremysanchez805 Thanks! It's been fun replaying with this one. There's a slider for NPC footsteps and regular footsteps and that seems to work on my game. Maybe some of the other versions that omit sounds do not. Those will essentially mute the sounds mentioned in the title but the slider will still be there.

Well Anniversary Edition includes all the DLC so there’s that. It includes all the Creation Club stuff and it does take up mod space…. but all of it together is only around 50MB since that stuff uses Vanilla assets. CC also doesn’t disable achievements since it’s considered part of the game.

@@arturius9715 that makes sense. There’s mods that might get AE versions to work with CC stuff also but not everything does. I usually disable the alternative armors from CC because I love armor replacers. There is a version of Divergence armors that’s compatible if you use it but not necessarily something like Old Kingdom.

I found ELFX to be the most stable but you can use what you like. This is just my list. I tried a variation of that mod and the castle in Solitude made my game super frame-y. It was so choppy it was like the FPS dropped to like 10. But then I walked out and everything was normal. The lighting itself was great though and that seemed to be the only pain point I noticed so that’s why I went back to ELFX.

Hey Matt, just wondering if you knew of any mods or have any recommendations for series X that maybe make the combat and feel of playing third person better, maybe something for the camera angles? I’ve always played Skyrim in first person and wanted to try it in third person but I can feel the age of the game 😅 I know it may be an ask as we’re on console 🤣

I really like the Movement & Behaviors 2.0 mod. It has smooth animations and allows you to walk backward and lean somewhat realistically (for a game). You should be able to see a lot of that in the video. You have to configure the Ultimate Dodge since that is a mod included in this one but you can give NPCs the ability to roll around on you or sidestep.

@@Daytz16 I was thinking about going over that in the next video actually! For the camera mod, I like to have it off to the right. Zoom on maximum so I can zoom in close. I love that look like when I’m charging the beat in the video. The weather preset I like is Pixar from RTD Weathers in this list.

Aw thanks for watching! @@Daytz16 I've been a big fan of Skyland (as you can probably tell from those older videos) so I think I will always default to that. I just love a mod that you can install once and it covers so much and it looks like it could've shipped with a modern version of the game. A SMIM mod + Skyland AiO and you're pretty much set on graphics for under 1.5GB. You'd be fast approching 2.8GB for all GP stuff. Last time I tried GP was when there weren't three different landscape textures you could get so I'm still evaluating but in terms of ease of use, I think Skyland wins everytime.

Shouldn’t. I usually put that lower on the list. I think this mod might say that in the description as well. Since it essentially incorporates all items, you want to make sure any mods that have items added or modify it go before it. CC automatically goes at the top for you.

It is harder with the new anniversary edition to mod. I use Ryton for graphics, seems to run seamless on my Xbox. But hard to add mods that add new Quests with anniversary edition. Followers are hard to handle also . My opinion.. On an Xbox, by the time we do patches, we have no room for nothing but updates. Or starting a clean slate for different mods just to try them out. Which I don't mind. And if I get ghost space all I do is delete my existence in the manege game and add ons.

I try to stay away from mods that have a ton of patches if I can help it. Gets confusing fast. Generally my lists aren’t that big so that helps if I need to dump it.

@@Headcase-es9dh once you install it, its baked in so you’ll have to clear your Reserved Space. It’ll clear your mods but you’ll start clean. Press then menu button when on the game tile > Manage Game and Add-ons > Saved Data > press menu button on Reserved Space > ‘Clear Reserved Space’ Hard reset the console after you do it so it clears the cache 👍 kzbin.infoCEoV101hA88?feature=share

If you had a UI/menu mod installed, then that was the main culprit for broken mod menus after the update: Made a video about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2nWpn-Vdr93apY Links in the description as well to some Bethesda help articles. You may need to dump your list and rebuild if you aren't able to disable any mods. A fresh install of the game can also fix it but be sure to note what mods you have first. There have been some updated versions of mods like Nordic UI that fixes the issue.

@@djj772 I know Stamina won't regenerate if overencumbered but not too sure outside of that 🤷‍♂ Maybe if you have a mod that messes with Survival mode if you have that installed. I think if you install Survival Mode and try to use it on an existing save then that might happen as well. Not something I've noticed in this list.

Audio sfx has a lot of good stuff, but I really dislike how quiet it (practically eliminates) a lot of UI sounds. Outright disabling discovery and leveling sounds. Been trying to find a UI sounds mod to overwrite that portion of Audio SFX. Would be great if Clofas1 provided some sort of UI sound patch option for Audio SFX as well as a no weapons sound bundle version as I’ve been trying to use Pentapox AIO but I don’t think I’m getting those sounds despite being lower in Lo I really wish ISC 3.0 would get patched to fix the magic sfx looping bug as well as the drinking/poisons and potions sfx bug fix built in.

All mods are ported/made for Xbox One. I suppose your mileage can vary a bit on an older Xbox but everything is available. Hard to say exactly since I’m on a Series X now. When I had my One S, I used Skyland almost all of the time. I did try the Graphics Pack once on there but that was when it was only a couple of mods.

Mods aren’t even even on my Xbox anymore. I can’t even see the mod menu.

Could be a mix of two things. First is privacy settings on your Xbox. The second is if UI mods are in your list that may have broken the mod menu. Here is the Bethesda help article on that: help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/64086

They are all in creations now. Bethesda have merged mods and creation club.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger so I started a new game to see if it was just the save file and I guess the one i made earlier the meshes didn’t load properly but when i made a new save and fast traveled there it was fine

Doesn’t this impact performance? I’d rather have a few essential mods and let the main game speak for itself. Skyrim could use some tweaks but not a total overhaul.

Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Snowstorms with RTD Weathers can hit performance a bit. The SkyRad grass and trees mod that I'm using has probably been the most performance-friendly to me so far. Generally, grass mods tend to be tough for the game depending on what you pick. Same thing for Fallout 4. I'm on Series X now but all mods are ported to Xbox One so there isn't anything specific to a certain Xbox. Started playing with mods on an Xbox One S and have used a lot of these back then, including the Graphics Pack. If you're worried about overall performance then starting small with what you like is always what I recommend. Go Sabres!

I have a pc but I cant mod for shit. I need stel by step unedited guide to use any of this shit. That and I know skyrim had been updated so alot of existing mods like script extender are fucked

PC is kind of a different beast. I just do Xbox videos. I’m sure there’s a lot of PC-focused modding channels that can help. The Bethesda Discord might be helpful as well.

Character, graphics/textures, and weather will change the look of your game. These are just what I use to get close to what I’d consider next gen. The Enhanced Movement & Behaviors adds to it as well so your character won’t look stiff but might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I have videos on the channel going over character, graphics, and weather mods. Skyland AiO is a texture mod for a lot of things like cities and landscapes.
