What I remember from my childhood in the 70's are "spritz cookies"... kind of a very light, shortbread cookie that came in a tin, especially at Christmastime. I 100% remember one of the designs in the tin would always be a star (a kind sense f a star crossed with a flower) and they sure did have a drop of red jam in the middle of thar design! Fun memories! Thanks Miss Talli!

I will check on her recipe tomorrow to see what ingredients are in it. I use to make these at Christmas time, put red food color in half of the dough, then green in the other half. (using the gel coloring so the colors would be bright without changing the dough). I would put the dough into a cookie press and make green Christmas Trees and red wreaths, then press cinnamon red hot candies on the trees for ornaments, and also around the wreaths….lastly sprinkling them all with those multi colored tiny dot sprinkles…..then bake them. I bake the cookies a bit first, remove from the oven. Then I use a spoon to press down the thumb print again. Then I add the jam, preserves or lemon curd and bake cookies for the rest of time or until done. The Danish butter cookies you can buy in the store in a tin can are Heaven ❤❤ and very authentic.
