I mix chocolate chips with the melting wafers and coconut oil. You'll get a really good chocolate taste. I also will only use Ghirardelli during the Christmas season. It's a special time of year. I have bad arthritis and would never give up my Danish whisk. It's a real-life saver.
@letssummondinnerАй бұрын
I never thought about mixing the two, thank you. I will have to try that next time. Normally Ghirardelli would be out of my budget but I got lucky and found two huge bags at the mennonite store lol. I agree about the whisk, when my hands hurt it makes things so much easier.

You can also use chopsticks to dip your candies in the chocolate! You might have to dab a bit of chocolate on small spots but that's what I used until I found that taking a piece of sturdy wire and bending on one end to make a small circle the size I needed to dip my candies with! It worked! I wanted to say that I absolutely love this Recipe! Coconut Cream Balls are one of my Favorites! Dab dry some cut up Maraschino Cherry halves to the mix and they are Heavenly! Thank you for the Recipe! I had to come back to tell you how delicious it is with adding the Cherries! I also added some Lemon Flavoring instead of Vanilla and Sprinkled Lemon Zest on top the White Chocolate instead of Salt to switch it up! Amazingly Delicious! Switch up you Candies and experiment with them like I did. You'll be Amazed! Bites of Heaven is what I call them! Thank you again for the Recipe! Merry Christmas! 🎄🍭🎄 God Bless. 🙏🙏❤❤

Looks yummy! I would just drop a few in at a time to coat, and fish them out with the fork or slotted spoon, or as one commenter here said, with a plastic fork with the 2 center tines missing, and just adding a quantity of them to the chocolate at a rate to keep the centers cool enough and the chocolate warm enough. It would go faster. The fleur de sel is the perfect touch; I use it every day. I've dispensed with table salt ages ago. One can grind down Kosher salt when a lot is needed, but fleur de sel is just nicer. I also nearly powder some of it for finishing, I love the way it just dissolves onto warm food and leaves no texture, no crunch, just lovely flavor.
@letssummondinnerАй бұрын
I love Fleur de Sel. It's soooo good on a steak lol. I will def be trying the plastic fork trick next time. I always get the best ideas from the comment section lol.
@lucihedley5568Ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I have been using a disposal plastic fork which I have cut off the two inner tines. So far this Christmas, with all my sweet treat gift making, it has worked well. The chocolate falls off and I can scrape the balls without scrapping the chocolate off the bottom. Now if I could do something about the heat here in Queensland Australia, I wouldn't have a storage problem. Happy holiday period and stay safe. Lucioff

In the early 70's, someone I worked with brought me a recipe for "chocolate covered cherries." My son is very happy when I make these! The recipe I have also uses finely chopped pecans. The filling was wrapped around a half of a cherry. The chocolate dip consists of chocolate chips & a block of paraffin! It didn't taste funny or anything. I don't know if the melting wafers were around back then or not. I just followed the recipe.
