John Quincy Adams is an underappreciated patriot -he almost literally gave his entire life to the service of this country, and we treat him like a footnote. Meanwhile, the current POTUS-elect brays about the consequences of his own choices and postures about the business of other sovereign nations but totally ignores that one of our largest cities is burning in the wind. Another note about the Ari show. Harper Lee's relatives should never have printed a second Lee book to To Kill A Mockingbird. 1950's Articus showed some signs of being a 1950's bigot. Made him look like he evolved backwards from a towering 1930's man of racial justice. Harper Lee lived off one book for 60 years. She did not want another. But her greedy family saw a buck and muddied Atticus. His 1930's courage and principle were pristine. He should have been left alone. That is how I will think of him.
