🤗 Hi Kat! I always enjoy spending time with you! I love the color of your pandemic piece. I’m glad you finished your sweater and even though it’s a little small looks like it will keep you nice and warm in the chilly weather. I enjoyed seeing all of your other crafting pieces and thanks again for the book recommendations I always find at least one that I enjoy. Take care.

Hi Carlene! Thanks. Deep reds are some of my favorite colors and grey and burgundy is one of my favorite color combinations. I'm glad you you enjoy my book recommendations. Sometimes I feel like Christian fiction doesn't get the attention it should, so I'm happy to promote some of them a bit!! Thanks for stopping by ... happy stitching!

Hi Sarah! Thanks for visiting ... I agree, the knitted animals really are adorable, and so far, they are really fun to knit. Just challenging enough to keep them from being boring, but not so challenging that they feel like work! 🙂

So good to watch you again. I was missing you. You just voiced exactly what I’ve been thinking, how some people get so many subscribers and others don’t. Like you, I really enjoy doing it, so I’ll just keep on with a smile. Love all your work. Love your cards!!! (Faith’s crafty ideas)

I also am coming from Kim’s latest update. She recommended we take a look, and I agree, I love your content. Nice variety of cross stitch and your cardigan is beautiful! I love the color! The little animals are going to be so cute. And your quilt wall hanging is so nice. The colors work well together. I have subscribed.😊

Thank you. I appreciate you stopping by and subscribing! I think the color of the cardigan is what is making me not just give it away ... I can wear it, but it's smaller than I would like, but I love that yarn so much!

So nice to see you again! It is strange how some channels explode immediately and some struggle for years. Love seeing your cross stitching and your sweater looks lovely. I used to knit a lot but haven’t for years. I hope to get back to it again sometime. Your cards look fantastic. That’s another thing I need to get back to. I have a craft room packed with paper crafting supplies but cross stitching has completely taken over. Need to find some balance I think. Take care and see you next time! ❤

Balance ... I think that's the hardest thing for crafters! :-) We want to do it all! Thank you for watching. I'd love to see some of your paper crafts and/or knitting on your channel if you ever do pick them up again!

Hey Katrina! Nice progress! You should definitely have more subscribers for the variety of your content. I appreciate all your crafts, even though I don't knit or quilt. The music quilt came out so good! I laughed at the bass drum mallet. Looking forward to your next video.

Thanks Kim! Hopefully by my next video I will have that bass drum mallet fixed and and show everyone how I solved that problem. It's been hanging around my craft room for far too long! :-) Stay warm! Yesterday felt like spring and I heard birds singing, then it was snowing when I came to work this morning, so it looks like it's going to be another week of weird MI weather. 🙂

Hi Katrina! I always enjoy seeing your updates so don’t be too discouraged about the subscribers. I’m a firm believer that if you stay true to yourself, you will find your tribe and/or vice versa. That said, I also think you’re justified in your feelings about it, because viewership is a bit cliquish in some ways. 🤷‍♀️ I’m happy to be in the same clique as you! 😘 Going from memory here but way to go on your cards, knitting, and the quilt top! The drum mallet made me laugh… I seem to remember our band using a ripped t-shirt and rubber band for a while. Lol. Happy crafting! -Leah Noel

It's amazing to me that you can knit things you can actually wear. I don't have those skills. Super love that first project you showed. I think it's Sunrise Sonata. More more!!!!! I have no explanation as to why some channels have an instant explosion of subscribers and others just don't get the attention they deserve.
@TheCraftyCataloger

I still find it amazing that I can knit at all, lol. Sunlight Sonata is going to be beautiful when it's finished ... if my eyesight holds out long enough so I can. It seems like I'm having to wear cheaters for just about everything these days. I've even resorted to wearing them while playing the piano. :-/

Yeah, I'm feeling like I'm wearing cheaters to do just about anything these days ... like my contacts are only good for distance, *sigh, the joys of aging. Right now, I'm planning to start that wedding piece next week. This week is a hot mess! Oh, it made me chuckle and makes me smile every time u see it!

It's great to see you again! It was fun to see what you're stitching, and I love the sweater that you knitted! I crochet and just bought a sweater pattern that's supposed to be easy. We'll see. I know what you mean about KZbin subscribers! It's taken me almost 6 years and 78 videos to get to 2500 subscribers. Then you see someone do one video and they're at 2000! It's weird. But I guess that's not the reason I do videos. Hopefully someone enjoys them.
@TheCraftyCataloger
@TheCraftyCataloger Жыл бұрын
True, that's not the reason I do them either. :-) Good luck with your sweater, I'm not sure if I'll ever tackle another one ... maybe someday, we'll see. I noticed a video pop up from you the other day, hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to watch and see what you've been up to! Happy stitching!

Kim Hollenback gave you a shoutout in her latest video and I just subscribed. Can I just say that I'm LOVING your spreadsheets! I noticed you have the WoW Alliance and Horde charts. I'm looking forward to seeing them being stitched on when they get their turn.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for stopping by and thanks for subscribing! The spreadsheets are fun (I know I'm a geek 🙂). I have a couple of projects that I'd really like to get done and off my WIP list and then I hope to really tackle those WoW pieces. My husband has never asked me to stitch anything for him before, so I'd really like to get them done sooner rather than later, and so far it has been pretty fun to stitch on!

Kim Hollenback gave you a shout out! She mentioned that you do cross stitching, quilting, knitting, paper crafts amd reading. I do 3 of the four hobbies. Never got interested in paper crafts. I have subscribed and hope to see you again at the end of April.

Thanks for stopping by! I will admit that papercrafting is probably the least favorite of my hobbies, and I frequently think about giving it up altogether, but I have A LOT of stuff -- my SIL got me into it years ago and she is still very active with it, so it's kinda something I do "with" her. 🙂

I saw the Spartan Stitcher this morning and she suggested you! Turns out we are crafting sisters. I do all the same as you but different projects. I look so forward to seeing more from you. I agree that if audiobooks didn't exist I wouldn't have the chance to read anything! I have also made an animal out of that book but I made the rabbit!

Hi Jessica! Thanks for stopping by -- it's always great to meet a fellow crafter, especially one that likes all the same crafts that I do. I'm still working on the dog, I think I'm making arms right now. If you're like me, the fact that you do so many crafts means that you don't do anything super fast, LOL. So far, I'm really enjoying working on him, so I hope to make several more of the animals over time!

@@TheCraftyCataloger I totally understand that. I can only do anything quickly when there is a deadline. The one I recently finished is for a baby due in the next few weeks so I had to be a bit monogamous. I look forward to seeing more of your progress soon.

Ah ha ha ha ha. Yeah, stay away from World of Warcraft if you don't want another time sink in your life! Oh heck! I love the Bloom where your are planted! I love that phrase and the design is beautiful. Yours is looking fantastic. Your sweater is really pretty. I'm sorry that it's a titch too small. But the colors and from what I can see of the stitches, it looks lovely! Yay! Lifelines! Oooh, the puppy you're working on is so cute. Congrats on learning intarsia! It's coming along so well. I'm a paper girl too. I love being able to cross something off on paper as I go along with the pattern. It's just so satisfying. It just dawned on me that the numbers you use for each of your sections are likely the dewy decimal numbers for the craft being talked about. I'm a slow learner.

I absolutely know what you are talking about with the “unfairness” of KZbin algorithm. I feel that the “small channels” need to stick together…I don’t know if this is kosher or not, but I subscribe to all cross stitch channel that has less than 1000 subscribers that I find to help other small channels. I may not watch the videos but they have another subscriber.
@TheCraftyCataloger
@TheCraftyCataloger Жыл бұрын
Agreed! I try to subscribe to a lot of the smaller ones as well -- and so many of them have great content! I also try to check when someone subscribes to me to see if they have a channel/post videos and at least check them out. Thanks for watching!

@@TheCraftyCataloger I’m late to the conversation but I also agree. I’m dumbfounded how some get 2k subscribers after 1 video. 🤯But now that I know that I’m not alone in looking for smaller channels I’ll keep on the hunt. Happy stitching ladies.

Hi, Katrina. You have wonderful content, and I enjoy your videos (the cross-stitching segment). However, nice job with the sweater. I have watched them since you first launched your channel. I agree, there is no rhyme or season for the algorithms - so please do not rely on them to interpret anything about your videos. I do wish you would look way from the camera and our image so that the camera lens reverts the image and you are looking/engaged with us. I hope that makes sense.
@TheCraftyCataloger
@TheCraftyCataloger Жыл бұрын
Thank you Jasmine. I think I know what you're saying ... I hadn't thought about it, but I'm looking at the screen on my camera, which probably makes it look like I'm not looking at you, because the screen is to the right of the camera lens. I appreciate that feedback. I will try to fix that in future videos (I have a feeling it's going to be harder than I think to not look at the screen, but I will work on it!!🙂) Thank you for watching!
