My thought going into 2025 is how life saving for me this medication is. I turned 60 in September and felt very despondent, have a lot of weight to lose and after trying all diets under the sun had no hope….i then learned and researched Mounjaro, am lucky enough to be able to afford it and so started my journey on 22nd November 24. I am only into my 7th week and just done my 2nd 5mg jab (I am doing 5th dose for cost reasons), have been relatively side effect free, little sickness, windy and burpy after my first 5mg, but only lasted the day and was manageable….my loss this week was 6lb which I didn’t expect but have been out walking, as no longer painful knee yay. So my total loss is 21 1/2 lbs, I understand and expect it to settle and I honestly deprive myself of nothing, if I want it I have it….amazing thing is I just don’t want the same rubbish I used to eat. Sorry for the waffle and well done on your losses, hope you soon get well and back to normal x

I'm in my 4th week at 2.5mg and the queasiness still comes and goes. I have the new dose of 5mg starting on Wednesday (2 days) a little apprehensive about titrating up and my current queasiness. I haven't lost much from week to week but overall, I've lost 9 pounds in nearly 4 weeks. Final check in 2 days. I think i'll do monthly measurements and weight checks instead of weekly. The food noise definitely returns by Monday (2 days before next dose). I feel so liberated that Im able to turn down offers of snacks and treats. Speaking of, I haven't had any wine either for a week now and Ive noticed a huge difference by not having any. More energy and lighter on my feet. kinda crazy...but a great feeling! You are a true warrior, Jackie! You're doing so well after your surgery and recent health scares.

9lbs in 4 weeks is brill hun, think of how slow those other diets were, your doing amazing, as for the queasiness, are you eating and drinking enough? keep an eye on what your eating and take the fat out of your diet if you can, thats usually the culprit but only when you start looking at what triggers it does it go, I must admit, my first 2 weeks were like that on and off, nothing major but i have a stock of cheese slices and babybel in the fridge and found when i was feeling like that, one of those did the trick, its trial and error, and thank you for your kind words, means a lot x

Amazing results Jackie, glad your surgery went well and you have.a voice. I hope you can find a way of eating that doesn't trigger your anxiety around having a gall bladder attack or the attack itself. I think looking at the psychological reasons around why we eat/crave/overconsume are definitely worth a deeper look and Mounjaro gives me the headspace to be able to do this and challenge or look at my thoughts when they pop up. We are all a work in progress. Enjoy the time with the grandkids and in nature.

Really great job with the weightloss Jackie. I used to get low after Christmas, but as I get older, I settle more into being me. When I started looking at my faith and making Christmas about that and family, I found I was a great deal happier. It is just after 4:00 am and we return to school today. Students come back tomorrow. I am looking forward to getting back into teaching British Literature 2 during this spring semester. Brit Lit isn't my field (20th C American is my love), but my classes are doing a theme of horror and the students seem to get into that. Jumping right in with Dark Romanticism, then moving to Gothic Victorian, and on.

@ I do love teaching literature. Here in the US, we have classes that are college classes being taught in a HS setting where students receive university credit. Teachers of those classes have to be qualified to teach university classes. There are only a few of us in the Gen Ed High Schools.

Great job, Jackie! How you manage with the addition of the surgery is just so admirable. While 7.5 mg for me was fine, titrating up to 10 mg was almost life changing. All the food noise disappeared, the pounds started departing, my thinking fog disappeared and I just feel so much better, it's like magic. I have lost 32 pounds in 15 weeks but it was very slow; almost no weight loss until I went to 7.5 in mid October. The dr and I agree that obviously my body doesn't produce enough of the peptides that the jab provides so finally having something to help me after all these years of food deprivation and dieting with no results is almost a miracle. Let's just carry on, shall we?

Seven weeks on and I have lost just six pounds and the food noise is coming back just a couple of days after the injection I’m serving on will power alone on about three days. I am having trouble with the injections, I am having a reaction to the medication when I inject a big round red spot appear. I think it’s an allergic reaction and I’m having to take an antihistamine tablet a day because it’s also itchy. I saw an American lady doing one of the KZbin shorts she seems to have had a reaction like mine she took an antihistamine tablet a few days before her shot and she said so far so good. I had a go on my last injection and I think it’s an allergic worked although to be honest I have four found circles where I have had two bruises and the two allergic reactions so 🤷🏻♀️who knows but I’m pretty sure I didn’t inject near the red spots. Going to inject in my thigh next time with taking the antihistamine tablets. My diabetic nurse is going to do a blood test and she will not allow me to go up to .5 until we know if my body is having a reaction to the medication if so I think my practice will stop me from using it. Prayers for me please 🙏🏻 as this is stopping my blood glucose from going high. 🫶🏻

I inject only in the back of my upper arms but im sorry to hear your having problems. some people only get results on the higher doses so stick with it if you are allowed to. keep track on your calorie intake and keep an eye on how your feeling. have you tried protein or meal replacement shakes, x

I have stopped for the moment. I was on the 5mg. I had a strange sensation in right-hand side of my back and near my belly-button on the same side. Skin was sensitive but not sure if you could say it was sore. Also felt a bit numb. Was a combination of those feelings and felt like it was the skin rather than muscular or internal. Might not be describing it well and have no idea what it was. My stomach is still sensitive in a small patch. Might try again when I am sure there is nothing serious. Think it might have been linked to a bout of constipation. I was doing well at taking in water bit forgot over a couple of days. Had a bit of pain from that just before the skin thing.

did you inject into your stomach? I only did it once then had bad heartburn so only inject into my upper arms now, also, get some magnesium citrate for the constipation, link in my description, one a day keeps me regular and i take an extra one if its not budging, did your skin have a reaction on the injection site? maybe contact your provider for some advice and see how you go or speak to your doc, it may have been a reaction? take care and keep us updated xx

@@JackiesJourneyWithLove I had injected there, maybe 2 injections before noticing the problem. Had good results on my legs. I think it must have been a reaction of some sort. Send to be improving. Will make sure it settles and try again. 5mg is quite full on. Might hang around at the 2.5 for longer next time. Really no Ill effects apart from that. Was thriving on our.

just do what I did i slowly increased my click starting at 35 on a 5mg as was too scared of the heavier dose and spent 5 weeks doing that it worked now on my first full 5mg tomorrow 😢
