January is a clearing my shelf month. I’ve got way too many unread books on my shelves so this month (and hopefully the whole year) is dedicated to reading books I already own.

That's a nice goal, I have a similar idea in mind when I finish the 3 books I have from the library, I'll focus more on the books I already own as well, especially that in December I was gifted some books and bought some as well, so there's plenty to read at home as well :D good luck with your reading goals!~

I’ve been doing that recently and it feels sooo nice to read things you’ve had on your shelf for a while! Especially if they’re good, then you’re like “why didn’t I read you sooner?!” 🤠

Your goal is way too small if you’re trying to shoot for something. At the rate you’re reading, you could pass 350 books in the year and you’ll hit easily your 25 book goal this month. Setting a yearly goal that you can beat in a month is kinda of strange. Just saying. Challenge yourself a bit.

@@desertrose0601 well actually the reason I got this headstart is because I had 2 weeks off from university. And with the kind of schedule I'll have for the next 6 months, I'd barely get any time to read. But I do appreciate what you said and maybe if I get to 25, which I hope I will, I'll try to set a bigger goal. 💕

I just picked up Skyward and I can't wait to actually start it! I'm sure I will fly through it because I read the Mistborn books super fast and really adore Sanderson.

I am (unfortunately) a mood reader so lists and a monthly tbr don't mix well with who I am as a reader...However, I am planing on reading A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir as my 1st book of the year. This year my goal is to read sequels and/or complete series I have started in previous years. Also, I am going on a book buying ban until August (fingers crossed) so I'll be focusing exclusively on books I already own. Wish me luck lol

im hoping to read 100 books this year! i read 71 books out of my 60 books challenge in 2019 so i think i could do it! im currently reading HP&deathly hallows and i’ve already spent and hour sobbing after a certain character died

My overly ambitious goal for January is 15 books. We’ll see if I get there. I’m aiming for 150-180 for the year. My average for a month is about 7-8 and if I’m stretching I can get 12-13 a month, but I’m trying to be more consistent to read daily, so I think bc of that I can get to 15. We’ll see! I enjoy the challenge, though I’m not overly worried if I don’t hit that goal.

My plan for 2020 try to read more in English I’m more used to read in French it is easier for me but i really won’t to switch of. One of the books I wanted to finish this is actually a series that I started years ago and never finished because the last books wasn’t out and that is the spooks apprentice by Joseph Delaney really good If you like fiction 😁

my reading goal this year is to read 35 books. i read 33 last year and even though i met my goal (20 books) i’m kinda upset that i didn’t read as much as i could have (though to be fair i didn’t exactly have that much time last year to read anyway, and i also experienced a huge reading slump from like january up until the beginning of summer), so i’m hoping to get above my reading goal this year and hopefully read somewhere between 40-50 books!

I've just begun A darker shade of magic. I've got the other 2 books too. I'm waiting for book mail for Truly devious and the vanishing stair. Guess if I like a darker shade of magic I'll continue with that series this month

My Goodreads Goal is 50 but honestly I would love to get to read 100 books this year. I already read the Fence series and I wanna read Vicious, Heretics Anonymous, Never Night, The Toll and maybe Strange the Dreamer or Renegades 😅😅

My Goodreads goal for 2020 is 52 books :) I am nearly done with Dr. Sleep by Stephen King (it took me forever for some reason haha), and then I'll be reading Help me, Picador by Marianne Power. I am not entirely sure what else I'll read this month, but I have a few books in sight, such as Amy Snow by Tracy Rees and Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty :) Good luck with you reading goals, everyone!
