Watch and follow VASAviation or REAL ATC or simular and you see how many mistakes Pilots make... but ATC also. It was just a question of time. For example: There are some pilots who cross a hold short line without permission from ATC or take the wrong Taxiway. I remember the close devistating crash with 6 waiting planes on the taxiway on SanFrancisco Airport... because the pilot of an incoming plane didn't recogniced that he aimed the taxiway instead of the runway

I noticed that the rear emergency evacuation door was closed. I don't see a sliding raft deployed. How were passengers on the plane able to evacuate so quickly?
@phillee2814 Жыл бұрын
@@weekdaycycling No airliner is certified without demonstrating a full evacuation of the maximum allowed number of passengers, through a random 50% of the exits (the cabin crew are not told which will be unavailable beforehand), in 90 seconds or less. Clearly, it is far more difficult in reality when cabin crew may themselves be injured, passengers confused and panicking, and there are always a few idiots who try to insist on taking some personal belongings with them (which can both disrupt the evacuation and damage the slide, making that exit dangerous and unusable), so in the very unlikely event that you are ever involved in an aircraft evacuation, don't even think about it. In this instance, the crew acted impeccably and the passengers were clearly directed very effectively to the available exits and did nothing to obstruct that process, which was probably encouraged by the very clear fire outside and a good culture of obedience to authority. The last off the plane would not have been the cabin crew though - it would have been the first officer and lastly, the captain, who would have checked the aircraft for unconscious or trapped passengers before leaving, and that would have been a pretty heroic act, as it means going all the way to the back of the aircraft to check galleys and lavatories and looking under every seat, while the paint is blistering and melting plastic is dripping around them. If the tail is too high from the ground (as in this case, with the nose gear collapsed), the slide would be too steep to use, hence that was not an available escape route, and it would have been guarded by a flight attendant to ensure nobody tried to use it. One reason that it is always the captain who welcomes passengers over the PA at the start of the flight is so that his voice will be recognisable to everyone on board if an emergency happens and he has to exercise his authority. Unfortunately, most of those regulations are brought about due to loss of life in a previous accident, so the laws and regulations surrounding aviation are written in blood. Pay attention to the pre-flight briefing, check the safety card in the seat-back pocket and identify all the exits around you - as this incident demonstrates very clearly, there may not be time if the need to use them actually arises. In this case, it appears that everyone followed the script perfectly, to their credit.

Retired airline pilot here. This looks similar to the LAX USAir/Sky West accident that happened several years ago. A change in standard procedures was instituted to turn on all lights when taking a runway and the transponder on. From my experience, landing at night on at a wet airport can be very confusing because of all the reflections of the lights of which there are hundreds. It seems pretty obvious from the footage that the JAL plane hit the other plan on the ground (or within feet of the ground) so at that point not landing wasn't really an option. Given the conditions they probably didn't see it until they were on top of it. Assuming the JAL plan had clearance to land on that runway, and I assume they did, then the error would seem to be either the Coast Guard plane being somewhere it wasn't supposed to be or the Coast Guard plane being directed to be somewhere it shouldn't have been. So not the JAL pilots' fault by the looks of things. And the JAL pilots did an excellent job completing the landing after the collusion. So props to them. And props to the cabin crew for getting everyone off as quickly as they did.

At such an early time, on a tragedy such as this !! Is this your hobby ?? You must have read the previous comments where Japanese people thanked the commenters for their prayers and well wishes. Be careful Paul. You have left your You Tube page openl * Is a "Christening" Nonsense alsol ! Listen mate , if thats all you want to do; Harass people who say the word "prayer". Its pathetic, mate ! I'm feelin sorry for you, mate. Best "wishes" to you and your Family in the New Year.

God does not exsist, except in the weak minds of indoctrinated people.
The skill of those pilots and the entire crew to get those passengers out is a testament to their skill and dedication and training. I am wondering if the intense fireball of flames was due to the fuel tanks being penetrated. I am sure it is the cause of the intense fireballs on the video.

Someone was listening to the ATC radio. ATC to coastguard, "Hold short runway" JAL to ATC, "Continue." So I get two questions 1) Why the coastguard came into runway. 2) Why ATC didn't notice it and abort landing. But I don't have the original record, so this might be not accurate.

The last time i was flying, was back into Jan. 2007 with the german now deceased AirBerlin from Sevilla to FFM, germany. I was being shocked in awe, when seeing this crash footage into the media, the news...but being very happy seriously, that *all* passengers went out of the plane, for their own safety! What a stunning crew that flight had. The japanese are being the most disciplined society in the entire world, i guess that helped them out quick & swiftly off the plane, to survive this massive crash. Godspeed, be safe & sound !

I believe the coast guard plane was not parked in the correct location for some reasons. I saw the passenger plane was moving quite slowly at that time.

This is very similar to the 1991 Los Angeles runway disaster where USAir Flight 1493, a Boeing 737-300, collided with SkyWest Airlines Flight 5569, a Fairchild Metro prop plane. The bigger plane landed upon the smaller one. Its a miracle in some ways that A350 Held up so well. Given the impact marks on both engines in some footage, I wonder if the Coast gaurd plane was actually lined up and waiting on the runaway, when the crash happened like the LA Crash. Thoughts to those killed in the smaller Dash 8

My ex was an air traffic controller when that happened. One of the very rare incidents where a controller was responsible for the accident. Usually they are mechanical failure or pilot error. The female ATC mentally cracked & had a break down afterward… according to what I heard. Impossible to live with yourself I would say even tho mistakes can happen. I heard this Japan accident was due to a pilot mishearing ATC instructions. Usually can happen when pilots don’t speak the language or have trouble hearing accents. I’m sure we will find out eventually. Very fortunate indeed that most were able to evacuate.
@DarkFox03 Жыл бұрын
The question is, what happened?, ...if the dash-8 knows the 350 incoming to land, are lined up and waiting?.....maintain position off of the runway?... we don't know clearly
@katemoffitt1641 Жыл бұрын
@@DarkFox03 This is what I was told but don’t quote me because it was long ago & sometimes we can get false memories as time passes. Anyway… the ATC mistakenly cleared the plane to land. I can’t say either plane knew the other one was there. If they did… and of course there are alarms that go off… it was too late. At LAX there is very little room for error given the busy nature of the airport.
@katemoffitt1641 Жыл бұрын
I’m hearing there was only one controller on position. This is troubling. In America the policy is 2 controllers on position at all time. Implemented since the Kentucky runway crash. BUT the truth is… they are so understaffed due to ATC shortages… that there are many times only one controller is on position.

Yea personaly o think the faa is really slow to change look at 2022 and 2021 there have been dozens on dozens of close calls but the faa did not change until there was a crash just like uberlingin.
