The Japanese have been buying select species from the Pacific NorthWest for decades, storing them in freshwater, for preservation. This particular log looks to be old growth Western Red Cedar. Current market prices for this wood are Huge !

I'm in the deep south, about 5 miles from louisanna line. They harvest sunken cypress trees out of the rivers here. It is a beautiful wood, like sawing into a rainbow, it has about every color you can imagine. It's very expensive but a very beautiful wood.......
