Before the war, a connecting train (boat train) to ships departing from Tsuruga Port was set as a passenger train due to international liaison transportation.
1882 (Meiji 15) March 10-Opened as Kanegasaki Station (Kanegasaki Eki).
1897 (Meiji 30) September 20-Passenger business abolished, at the same time demoted to Kanegasaki Cargo Handling Office.
1908 (Meiji 41) March 25-Promoted to Kanegasaki Station.
June 15, 1912 (Meiji 45) --Resumed passenger transportation only on the day of departure and arrival of the Vladivostok route.
January 11, 1919 (Taisho 8) --Renamed to Tsuruga Minato Station.
1932 (Showa 7) September 20-The freight branch line (1.2km) to Tsuruga Shinko Station opens.
Around 1940 (Showa 15) --Passenger trains are abolished due to the outbreak of World War II.
1943 (Showa 18) April 1-Tsuruga Shinko Station was annexed to this station and abolished (equipment exists until around 1980 as a premises line treatment).
1987 (Showa 62)
March 31-Passenger business officially abolished.
April 1-JR Freight inherits due to JNR division and privatization.
1999-2006 --Temporary passenger trains (mainly for groups only) are operated only when sightseeing events, toro sinks and large fireworks displays are held [2].
April 1, 2009 --Abolished the setting of freight trains (train operation ends only the day before [3] [4]). Became Tsuruga Port Off-rail Station (currently Tsuruga Port New Sales Office) and started truck service.
April 1, 2019-The Tsuruga Port Line will be officially discontinued, so it will be discontinued as a railway station. Tsuruga Minato New Sales Office will continue to move to the same form as the former container center
