If China promises not to further fuel anti Japanese hatred, I don't see any problem with it. Japanese PM & Emporer in the past have already apologized to south east Asian nations. Deng Xiaoping himself visited Japan to increase relations & Japan agreed & helped China in investments & infrastructure development. The more hatred there is, the more it will spook the Japanese in further increasing their military & depending more on USA who will just increase American military presence in Japan

Let's use reasoning, logic. Let's be fair. Was this man involved in WWII? Now let's switch side, you switch to his body and he switched to your body. What would you do? Go after those that are involved, not innocent ppl. If your father or grandfather or great grandfather committed atrocities, are you willing to pay for it, is it fair?Be truthful with yourself
@nl54557 күн бұрын
@@charleschin6497 I don't agree with you. The Japanese PM or foreign minister could apologise on behalf of the Japanese people who committed past atrocities. It's a very clear distinction, to apologise on behalf of someone. Although most of the Japanese people today did not commit these crimes, the stigma is transferred onto them. Apologising openly on behalf of those who did commit the crimes also acknowledges the crimes and mistakes, thus helps foster a growing relationship. Let's use reasoning and logic. Just because the Japanese did crimes in past history, does it justify their government deliberately trying to avoid talking about it, and hiding it under the rug?
@gorillaofjohn157 күн бұрын
Let us not talk about apology. Let's just start with just even acknowledging that it happened - the Japanese government failed to do it even at this very basic level, and instead, totally twisted or erased important historical facts from their textbooks, continuing to brainwash its younger generations. Logic and Reasoning ? There are still many survivors of the incidents from Nanjing and many other parts of China, and actually around southeast asia. There are also many children of the victims who have witnessed the atrocities, still alive today. There can be no closure for anybody, if the perpetrating country totally dismisses the facts, deny them as fabrications, and offer not even an acknowledgement, let alone apology. It is a simple job of any government. Let's be fair? Many countries were about to move on from history with their neighbours, because they made amends for their crimes during the wars. A prime example is Germany. Germany did what was needed with history, with courage and dignity. That is why it could be on strong terms with its neighbours today. Was Japan behaving fairly? Your argument that all the criminals are dead is a cowardly and pathetic attempt to skirt the matter. THis is the exact issue people have with you. Cowardice but masked by a seemingly dignified front, with only a deeply insecure, misplaced pride beneath.

Don't just talk to paint a nice picture. It will not convince Chinese in China and that includes Chinese in South East Asia. Do what is respected and just and no more talking trying to tell the world that you are sincere. Many SE Asian government accepts Japan talks but that is NOT WHAT THE VICTIMS in SE Asia agreed upon and remembered many victims are STILL alive and kicking. Simply just ONE criteria, Japan is not sincere enough to convince all the Chinese in China as well as in South East Asia.
@hoekeatung17607 күн бұрын
Is Japan truly sincere about her need to be remorseful and change completely. This must come from her realisation that what she did in the past was absolutely horrifying and heinous. Something no human should ever do... much less as a neighbour!!! This must be a deep and profound admission and can only be expressed by her heart with an external action to reflect this remorse. Such an admission and a concrete follow up action is vital. People are not fools and can see through the intentions of Japan whether Japan's actions are genuine or they are made to suit politcal reality. No amount of words can convince China if her actions are politically motivated now that the World Order is changing. The ball is totally at Japan's foot.

Japan will remove all of it with a snap of a finger if they wish. 193 out of total 195 countries on earth are independent and sovereign, and every single US base and troops in the world are there at the request, permission, allowance, and invitation from the countries that host them. It is time to find the peaceful mindset on both sides. There are 27 millions to 30 millions Russians killed in WW2. 20 million were civilians. There were many rape and torture victims across the Europe. We need to learn how to handle situations from Europe. Our leaders from 1800 to 1900 have many reasons to take the blame in China. The leaders were weak and sleeping in 1800 or 1900. Japanese troops did horrible things in China during WW2. No one can deny it. However it is time to look forward and make peace. The big brothers have to forgive their small brother's mistake. Confucian teachings show kindness to small guy.

It doesn't make any geopolitical sense for Japan and China to reconcile and become closer allies, just as it doesn't make sense for South Korea to reunite with North Korea. This is not going to happen while we are all alive. It's a chess game. The Americans are not gonna give up strategic military positions. The bigger question is whether Japan and South Korea want to be pawns or a different chess piece on the board.
