Nakanoshima is an area rich in water and greenery where administrative, economic, and cultural facilities are concentrated. On the map, this area refers to a long and narrow sandbar sandwiched between the Dojima River and the Tosabori River, approximately 3km east to west and approximately 50ha in area. This area is home to convention facilities and international culture, with a privileged urban waterfront environment as a backdrop. Facilities, offices, and commercial facilities are concentrated here. During the Edo period, Osaka was called the ``nation's kitchen'' because it was on Nakanoshima, where the warehouses of feudal clans across the country gathered to buy and sell rice and various other goods. After the beginning of the Meiji period, cultural facilities such as a library and central public hall were completed, and in addition to commerce, the area also played a role as a dissemination center for modern information and culture. In recent years, the Osaka University Nakanoshima Center has opened, and the Nakanoshima Line, which connects Yodoyabashi and the International Chamber of Commerce, has also opened. As the central area of Osaka, its functionality is further enhanced.
